Featuring an assemblage of core fixtures, B&H has put together this Genaray Bi-Color 36" Soft Strip 3-Light C-Stand Kit to provide image makers with the means to light a small production or work on location using optional batteries. The kit includes three SSL-36B Bi-Color Soft Strip Lights with a 100° beam spread that can be narrowed with their included 2-way, full-length barndoors. Each light is supported by a heavy-duty C-stand, and a filled 15 lb orange sandbag to stabilize the rig.
Offering a soft wrap-around quality thanks to its long, narrow form factor and 512 bright LEDs, the 36" long Soft Strip LED Light from Genaray is a versatile fixture with features that are easy to use in the studio or on location. The light has a continuously adjustable bi-color temperature range from 3200k to 5600K, with a high CRI/TLCI rating of 95.6/98, an indicator of precise color rendering. The SSL-36B features an all-digital dimmer for single digit adjustment control throughout the dimming range from 100% all the way down to 0%. Other dimmers without this functionality can exhibit abrupt falloff below 10%, greatly limiting their dynamic range.
The SSL-36B runs barely warm to the touch, allowing you to work close to the subject without causing discomfort or hot light hazards. The power-saving light produces an output of 977 lux at 3' while consuming just 56W of power, helping you keep the temperature of your set and your operational costs down.
The long strip fixture can be used vertically or horizontally for dramatic results. In vertical orientation, the SSL-36B is ideal for use as a sidelight or for dramatic lighting. It also creates long, elegant reflections when shooting products. In horizontal mode, the light has a wrap-around quality with appealing falloff at the top and bottom of the frame. Another use is overhead as a hair light.
The SSL-36B has a beam angle coverage of 110 degrees, which can be modified and controlled by its two-way barndoors. The fixture comes with a multi-voltage adapter that makes it ready for world use, but it can also run on optional V-Mount batteries when AC power is unavailable. A hard carrying case is included to store and transport the light.
This chrome Impact Turtle Base C-Stand features a detachable base with twist and release locking legs that are easily removed to facilitate transportation or to replace the riser with an alternate size. A light head can be mounted to the base directly with the aid of a stand adapter.
The base allows individual legs to be set at any angle and can be positioned in locations not possible with standard-designed stands.
