Kessler Crane Mag Max Overview

Powering multiple accessories can be taxing on your camera's battery, Kessler Crane's Mag Max 3A Battery Adapter is designed to help alleviate that problem. It provides regulated 14.4 VDC power from a single DeWalt 20V Max or 60/20 Flex Volt battery via a D-Tap, 2-pin LEMO, or coaxial connector. Additionally, the Mag Max 3A features a USB port that outputs 5 VDC for powering/charging USB accessories.

The Mag Max 3A features multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded mounting holes, as well as non-threaded through holes, which makes it easy to mount this onto your camera rig. It also features neodymium magnets that allow it to attach to all Kessler MagLink products such as Second Shooter motors and controllers, as well as ferrous metal surfaces.

The Mag Max 3A accepts DeWalt 20V Max and 60/20 Flex Volt batteries, and it outputs 14.4 VDC regulated power, as well as 5 VDC via a USB connector.
The Kessler Mag Max 3A battery adapter will not power devices that draw more than 3A, such as RED DSMC2, URSA Mini, and other digital cinema cameras. However, it will work to provide power for most video accessories used in the industry. This includes many monitors, audio recorders/mixers, follow focus systems, wireless video transmitters and receivers, Kessler motion control systems, and LED lights, as well as DSLRs and mirrorless cameras with a regulated battery dummy.
The 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tapped and pass-through holes populate the adapter for attaching it to a cheese plate, tripod plate, camera cart, and just about anything that has industry-standard 1" on-center hole patterns. A tapped hole on the end is useful for attaching a variety of accessory arms, or as an alternative mounting method.
Integrated neodymium magnets embedded into the bottom of the unit allow you to attach the Mag Max 3A to all Kessler MagLink products (Second Shooter motors, Second Shooter controller, etc.) as well as anything containing steel, iron, nickel, or other ferrous metals.

  • Optional Gold mount stud kit for attaching to Gold mounts (does not pass-through power)
To get a sense of the power available, the smallest DeWalt 1.5Ah battery can run a 3-axis Second Shooter Plus system for 2.5 hours.
