You can use something like the Ubiquiti Networks UF-RJ45-1G Copper FiberModule BH #UBUFRJ451G if you need copper. If you have SFP 1Gb, you can use the Ubiquiti Networks UF-MM-1G SFP Multi-Mode Fiber Module (2-Pack) BH #UBUFMM1G.

The Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Dream Machine Pro BH #UBUDMPRO is very silent but if you are in a very quiet environment, it is possible you might be able to hear it. Installing it on a rack away from your desk would be best practice and you wouldn't be able to hear it.

The Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Dream Machine Pro is intended only for advanced users, as support and documentation will be limited and users are expected to already have a good comprehension of Ubiquiti systems and networking. It would be considered overkill for residential use in most cases.
