Is the T8i worth upgrading from the T6i, or are they about the same?
Asked by: Marilyn
That's an extremely specific question and someone would had to of owned the T6i AND a T8i to answer. We upgraded a 5 year old rebel for the T8i and love it.

What is the write speed to the card? I'm interested in doing multiple 2 or 3 sec exposures, in the order for 200 to 300 hundred at a time, for astro photography, without a telescope. Will I have to leave multiple sec delays between each exposure for the buffer to be written to the card?
Asked by: David
Depends on the card actually. This camera's SD slot is UHS-I, it cannot take advantage of the UHS-II SD cards so don't spend the extra money. UHS-I cards max out at about 90 MB write speeds. For what you're doing though it's more than enough. I would turn off the Noise reduction in camera, so you can get quick 2-3 second exposures for you to stack. If you have noise reduction on you'll have to set extra seconds per interval to leave room for the buffer.

I'm considering the canon t8i va the sl3 but I'm stuck. I currently have the t6i and I'm trying to upgrade my camera for better videography. Which one would be best?
Asked by: Michael
The Canon EOS Rebel T8i would be closest to the control layout of your current T6i, as well as more AF points and digital stabilization for video.

Does the T8i have clean HDMI output at 1080 also? Do you have to use Canon's EOS utility to achieve this?
Asked by: Kelly
Yes, the Canon EOS Rebel T8i DSLR Camera (Body Only has clean HDMI output at Full HD (1920 x 1080). In movie mode, go to "HDMI info disp." in the menu and and select "Clean / FHD Output". You do not use the Canon EOS Webcam Utility. You will need a video capture card. Connect the HDMI cable to your video capture card, then plug in the USB cord from the capture device into your computer.
