Just what I needed. Haven't used this brand long enough to know about durability.

Quality cards at a more reasonable price

I am using this card in both a Nikon Z6 and Z6 ii. I wanted additional in-camera storage for 4k video when the video is less than 30 minutes. Otherwise I use an Atmos Ninja V.

Reliable cards

I've used ProGrade cards in my 1Dx Mark II and they've been reliable. There wasn't any hesitation when I purchased these cards for my R3. They've been working great both in the camera and card reader.

Faster but not through a hub

These are faster than XQD only if you aren't hooking your reader up through a hub. Going through a hub they seem to be only slightly faster than an XQD. Even when the ProGrade reader is hooked directly up to my 2019 16 MacBook Pro they are twice as fast as the XQD card. Nowhere near as fast as the top 1700 Mbps that they claim. The buffer seems to clear a little faster on my Nikon D500. When it comes to choosing XQD or CFE/B for Nikon DSLRs, I would choose which ever you can get the best price on.

Top Tier Memory Card

I purchased ProGrade CFexpress cards based on the recommendation of other professionals for their durability, transfer speed and robust construction. Using them in a 151 megapixel digital back on a medium format camera have proven them to be a wise choice.

Be careful to read ProGrade Digital's accompanying manual.

I did not read the manual for these memory cards until *after* I had bought them. I assumed that all high-quality CFexpress cards would be compatible with all cameras. This is not true. What ProGrade Digital calls their manual is actually a list of supported cameras. It tells which cameras use Gold and which use Cobalt memory cards. It turns out that my camera, because it is so fast and can shoot 4k video, *requires* faster memory than I bought. This will work for stills, but *not* for fast, 4k video. This was unclear to me until I read the manual. Don't make my mistake, and read the supported camera models *before* you buy.

I'm shooting with a Nikon Z6 but will be adding a Z9 to my kit. This card has been great for stills and video so far and I expect it to do everything I need when I'm capturing long-form 4K video with the Z9 in 2022.

I just tested this and it failed on 8K RAW recording after a few seconds. Re-tested several times, same issue. Made sure it was the only card in the camera. Tried 8K-D in RAW and 8K-U in all formats and all frame rates. I have firmware version 1.1.1 installed.

Don't get this card for a D6. While it will work, it's a slow CFExpress card. Get the ProGrade Cobalt or a similar high performance card like the Sony Tough or Delkin Power or Black. My testing in the Z7ii, Z6, and D850 had the ProGrade Gold 60-70% slower than the better cards once the buffer filled.

Can the ProGrade Digital 128GB CFexpress 2.0 Gold Memory Card be read by the Sony MODEL: MRW-E90 card reader?
Asked by: Paul
Unfortunately not. That card reader does not read CFexpress Type cards. The correct Sony card reader for this card would be the Sony MRW-G1 linked here. https://bhpho.to/3wHJOrO. This card reader reads both CFexpress and XQD cards. Or you can use the ProGrade card reader linked here. https://bhpho.to/3fXwJVq. This reads CFexpress as well as SD cards, but does not read QXD.

Yes, the ProGrade Digital 128GB CFexpress 2.0 Gold Memory Card is fully compatible for use with the Nikon D500 DSLR camera. I would recommend to upgrade your camera to the most recent firmware available, but Firmware Version C: 1.30 or later is required to use CFexprees memory cards in the Nikon D500 DSLR camera.
