ProGrade Digital 512GB CFexpress Type B Reviews

Good CFE-B card

I purchased this card because I already had a ProGrade 128GB card and like it better than SanDisk card I have (which gets very hot while in a card reader). Couldn't be happier with it (so far) and if I purchase additional cards for my Canon camera they will probably be ProGrade.

Great card. I use them in my Nikon D850 and Nikon Z7II. Fast read and write and dependable. Highly recommended!

Very, very, very fast

I have an R3 and a R6, run the R3 with this card and the R6 with the fastest SanDisk SD cards. As I do stills and very little video, the in-camera write speed is in both cases something I never notice = fast enough. But when it comes to downloading into Lightroom, the ProGrade feels 10x as fast. Great card!

Failed after no more than 5 uses

My new card failed and cannot be read from any device (not from the camera or the ProGrade native reader). It made me lose all the information from the last concert I had covered. Inexcusable for me as a professional concert photographer. Now I'm waiting to see if the warranty covers me to recover the lost data, or do I have to pay an extra $50 from my pocket to try to recuperate it... I will update this review after ProGrade Digital's response.

Same performance as Sandisk Extreme in my Canon R3.

I just got it a few weeks ago. It is much faster than my XQD cards. I hope it holds up as well.

I purchased it for my Z7, writing and reading speed are both very good for large files with high resolution. Price is also very decent.

The ProGrade COBALT series has a significantly higher minimum write speed (1400 versus 400), which is ideal for recording video in high resolutions and high bitrates.

128GB Work for Canon Eos R5 8K Raw Video?
Asked by: Piyawut
I just tested this and it failed on 8K RAW recording after a few seconds. Re-tested several times, same issue. Made sure it was the only card in the camera. Tried 8K-D in RAW and 8K-U in all formats and all frame rates. I have firmware version 1.1.1 installed.

Asked by: James
The canon R5 compatibility chart specifically states that the Gold versions of ProGrade cards are not fast enough for 8K.

Compatible with the Nikon D6 camera?
Asked by: Charles
Don't get this card for a D6. While it will work, it's a slow CFExpress card. Get the ProGrade Cobalt or a similar high performance card like the Sony Tough or Delkin Power or Black. My testing in the Z7ii, Z6, and D850 had the ProGrade Gold 60-70% slower than the better cards once the buffer filled.
