Equipped with one CFexpress Type B slot and one UHS-II SDXC slot, this reader takes advantage of the 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 bus to deliver transfer speeds of up to 1.25 GB/s, or 1250 MB/s via its USB Type-C interface. Please note that this reader is not backward compatible with XQD cards.

Evenly I am too used to using the XQD cards. They should put cooling fins or fans on these things seeing as how hot these CFexpress cards get. My camera has hot card warnings the things are so bad about heat. I wonder what it going to be like when it really gets hot here in South Texas? I do not know why, and it is the same way in my Z 7II camera (whine) but I wish that these card readers and camera slots were spring loaded like the XQD versions. This pull out thing feels flimsy.

Nice built and very fast piece of equipment! Wold love to know better how far I have to keep hard drives or memory cards from the reader due to its magnetic base...

This reader is compact and does the job well. It has a magnet built in to the bottom of the reader that you can use to attach to the back of your laptop screen, or to your desktop. It has both formats that I needed for my Canon R3 so that also helped the good review.

This device works great. I would give it five stars were it not for the build in magnet on the bottom. Magnets and electronic devices do not mix well.

I have used this for about a month and it works as needed. Speeds are good on transfer but it gets hot. I am concerned if I do not immediately remove my card after transfer it could do damage from the heat. I have yet to read anywhere this as actually happened but it is very unusual and a legitimate concern of the build quality. Currently there are not a lot of options out there for Type B cards that will not break the bank so for now it is what I use. I do recommend looking for others if you can afford it. Happy shooting

This reader transfers really fast but 60% of the time it either won't mount or freezes up and makes my whole computer stall. I thought it was the card (Delkin) but I tried other cards and it does the same. I spoke to other owners of this device and they have the same issues. Customer service hasn't been much help yet and I'm 15 days outside of the return window.

No, it will not. The ProGrade CFexpress Type B & UHS-II SDXC Dual-Slot USB 3.2 Gen 2 Card Reader is only compatible for use with CFexpress Type B or SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. It is not compatible for use with CompactFlash memory cards. CFexpress and CompactFlash memory cards are two different memory card sizes and are not interchangeable with one another.

My cards get hot just plugged into this reader, even if I'm not downloading them. They get so hot I can't even touch the card for more than a second or two. I know this has been addressed but it seems very extreme to me (and worrying). If there is additional info. on this I'd love to know. Anyone?

I have this reader and the Lexar one, and I have this issue with both. The card gets hot just plugged in, even when I'm not reading from it.

The magnetic base can damage anything on my notebook (lcd, webcam or something) if I used it on the back of my notebook monitor?

I can't know what your notebook monitor is made of but it is a simple somewhat soft magnet but quite powerful attraction. I don't think it could harm anything.
