It is a good product, it transports information super fast and saves time, excellent for those of us who use different types of memory in our cameras, it also has a cable for Mac apart from the regular cable, I totally recommend the product

Trouble mounting and unmounting on Mac

Like others have mentioned, it was great when it would work, but I had trouble mounting and unmounting it from both a 2019 iMac and 2023 MacBook Air. I'd have to shut down or restart to use the card reader.

Gets *extremely* hot

I bought this because of the brand (great CFexpress cards!), but ended up immediately replacing it because it quickly makes the cards almost too hot to touch and I'm afraid that it will damage them. In contrast, my Delkin reader (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1551387-REG/delkin_devices_ddreader_54_usb_3_1_gen_2.html) just gets a little warm.

This is a quality product. The only negative for me is that it isn't backward compatible with XQD cards.

This card is not compatible with LRC....be careful!

This card reader is not compatible with LRC......Which is what I work with! It caused all types of import issues with my catalog and my drives that store my photos. I spent hours trying to fix things, so it wouldn't keep automictically importing into LR...which I DON'T use! Now, I directly import from the camera into LRC with now problems what so ever!! Don't Buy it!!!

Heats up, doesn't eject

The card reader was great, at first. After a few months it stopped ejecting from any of my machines and took multiple attempts for it to show in the Finder. It seems to heat up and become inoperable.

can this read compact flash as used in canon 5D Mark III?
Asked by: Michael
No, it will not. The ProGrade CFexpress Type B & UHS-II SDXC Dual-Slot USB 3.2 Gen 2 Card Reader is only compatible for use with CFexpress Type B or SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. It is not compatible for use with CompactFlash memory cards. CFexpress and CompactFlash memory cards are two different memory card sizes and are not interchangeable with one another.

My cards get hot just plugged into this reader, even if I'm not downloading them. They get so hot I can't even touch the card for more than a second or two. I know this has been addressed but it seems very extreme to me (and worrying). If there is additional info. on this I'd love to know. Anyone?

I have this reader and the Lexar one, and I have this issue with both. The card gets hot just plugged in, even when I'm not reading from it.

The magnetic base can damage anything on my notebook (lcd, webcam or something) if I used it on the back of my notebook monitor?
Asked by: Fernando
I can't know what your notebook monitor is made of but it is a simple somewhat soft magnet but quite powerful attraction. I don't think it could harm anything.
