The HD146X has an HDMI input for connecting your cable/satellite box, Blu-ray player, or gaming system. A 3-watt speaker is built-in for audio playback, as is a 3.5mm audio output to connect to your external speaker system. The projector includes an IR remote control for added convenience.

Designed to Produce Cinema-Quality Images
The HD146X is engineered to deliver sharp HD images with a native 1080p DLP DMD and a RYGCWB color wheel. With up to a 3600-lumen brightness output, the projector can overcome ambient light in many home installations.
Engineered for Gaming
Game Display Mode boosts shadows and dark scenes to help enhance visibility of impending obstacles. Enhanced Gaming Mode delivers a fast input response time of 16 ms for fast-paced competitive console and desktop gaming.
Quiet Design
The low 26 dB noise level in Eco Mode helps ensure that movies and gaming are heard over the sound of the fan.
Digital Light Processing (DLP) Technology
DLP technology is designed to provide high contrast, fast response time, good pixel structure, and virtually no color degradation.
Enhanced Color
The HD146X can reproduce the Rec.709 color gamut to help ensure accurate reproduction of cinematic color as the director intended.
HDMI Link
This technology lets you turn on and off two or more HDMI-CEC capable devices using a single remote control.
Signal Power On
The projector can power on when it receives a signal through the HDMI input, ensuring that it turns on at the same time as your source device.
3D Compatibility
Display 3D content from almost any compatible source, including 3D Blu-ray players, broadcast, and game consoles. 144 Hz rapid-refresh rate is supported for smooth, flicker-free images. Compatible 3D glasses are required and sold separately.
Full HD Resolution
1080p resolution renders sharp, detailed images from HD content without downscaling or compression, making the HD146X well-suited for movies, TV shows, and gaming.
Dynamic Black Technology
This feature is designed to provide more depth to your image by smoothly adjusting the lamp output to augment the contrast ratio. This helps bright scenes appear crisp and clear while keeping dark scenes detailed with deep blacks and light and shade detail.
ISF Modes
ISF modes allow you to save your calibrated day and night mode settings for your preferred viewing experience.

Yes it may be mounted in an upside down position. See pages 15,16, and 44: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/596187.pdf Per Optoma: Projector should be placed flat on a surface and 90 degrees / perpendicular to the screen. ‡ How to determine projector location for a given screen size, please refer to distance table on page 44. ‡ How to determine screen size for a given distance, please refer to distance table on page 44. Note: The further away the projector is placed from the screen the projected image size increases and vertical offset also increases proportionally. IMPORTANT! Do not operate the projector in any orientation other that table top or ceiling mount. The projector should be horizontal and not tilted either forwards/backwards or left/right. Any other orientation will invalidate the warranty and may shorten the lifetime of the projector lamp or the projector itself. For none standard installation advise please contact Optoma. Installing the projector: Your projector is designed to be installed in one of four possible positions. Your room layout or personal preference will dictate which installation location you select. Take into consideration the size and position of your screen, the location of a suitable power outlet, as well as the location and distance between the projector and the rest of your equipment.
