508 Personal Rolling Trimmer (18") is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good inexpensive trimmer for 13x19 I was looking for a trimmer for my 13x19 printer, and this fit the bill without breaking the bank. Like many others mine arrived just slightly out of square, but as mentioned by another review, a quick adjustment by loosening the screws on the end cap and I quickly got it perfectly square. The trimmer produces very clean cuts, even on thicker fine art fiber and rag papers, and can trim very slim ribbons off a print. It nicely holds down the media once you begin the cut as well. It has an 18 cutting area, which is just big enough for me to trim down my 13x19 paper for 12x18 prints (trimming the short ends first, leaving an 18 print to trim the long sides). It's worked great so far on about 30 prints for me, and I have no reason to believe it won't last quite a while. I'd love a rototrim, but for my needs it's a bit expensive and this Dahle works great for the price, once the minor correction to square was made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price This trimmer is great for photographers and scrap bookers. The trimming table has the lines to guide your cuts and to create intricate angled shapes. In addition, the self-sharpening blade eliminates rough cuts and keeps the trimmed edges clean and sharp. This trimmer being 18, makes trimming and cropping an image easy, the large size of the cutting area allows you to cut once, eliminating the need to make multiple cuts to achieve the desired size. The trimmer is sturdy and reasonably priced, and will surely meet my needs for a long time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not square but fixable I've had this trimmer for a few years and finally decided to try to make it square. Previously I've always aligned the edge to be cut against the edge of the guard and not by the left guide. I had a large (for me) job and decided to try to fix it. I noticed that the left end plastic part wasn't flush against the main metal base, but the right side was. Loosening the three screws underneath allowed for enough play to move it flush. Now it's perfectly square. It's a good low volume trimmer, but it should have come properly assembled from the factory

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK inexpensive trimmer, but poor quality After using a variety of quality trimmers and mat cutters for over 30 years; and teaching art/photo, I ordered the 508 trimmer, as an inexpensive backup for my studio. After one use, the plastic guide literally popped off and flew across the room.It was broken. I immediately contacted the Dahle Co. A representative e-mailed me right back; shipped another plastic guide FREE of charge. It was great to have a company stand behind it's product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cuts clean once squared up My unit came out of square, it was easy to correct by loosening the screws on the back and adjusting it to square. It would have been nice to see it come from the factory square, but I had read the reviews and knew my chances of getting one square was slim. Good cutter for the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not square The one I ordered is not square! It was quite obvious from the first cut. Another consideration is that the aluminum roller guide is not stiff enough to cut more than one sheet without the potential for a curved cut. Maybe this one was defective, because I read many positive reviews about this roller. However, I cannot recommend it based on my experience with it. If you are not after precision 90-degree angle cuts or perfectly straight edges, this may be just what you need. Moreover, I bought this product thinking that, because it can accommodate 18-inch-wide paper, I could accurately measure 8x10 photos. NOT SO! The width ruler only goes to 6 3/8 inches! While this could be easily surmised by reading the dimensions, it isn't clearly stated what the maximum width measurement is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent paper cutter, works great in combo with P800 Epson I use this trimmer with the Epson P800 printer, I put it on the output tray and run the long prints - I've been printing up to 50 out through the cutter. The printer prints a dotted cut line and I square up the print and trimmer and zip, paper is cut. Easy to use and very well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy. Highly Recommend!!! I use this in a mid sized professonal production environment. It's fast, smooth, and highly worth it's cost. We cut everything from coverstock to heavy weight copy paper. All producing an excellent end product. I really don't have any not so great comments to add.
