Robust Bi-Color Performance
Combining the latest optical color-blending technology with Aputure's dual-color LED chipset provides an unprecedented flexibility from a single LED fixture. A specially-designed color-blending optical element in front of the chipset combines the LED output into a single cohesive point light source. The highly-efficient light output renders at CRI 96, TLCI 96, plus higher than industry standard SS1 85, and D55-SSI 74 ratings. This level of efficiency means colors and skin tones will be reproduced with an extremely-high degree of accuracy.
Local Control, DMX, 2.4 GHz Wireless, and Bluetooth Remote Control Options
Intuitive local controls and a bright LCD display on the Controller Box allow precise and repeatable setups locally. In addition, the output may be controlled using the included 2.4 GHz wireless remote, or the light may be integrated into a DMX network via the 5-pin XLR in/out ports. Also, thanks to Aputure's integrated Sidus Mesh network chipset, all the 300x's functions may be controlled by the Sidus Link app, free to download for iOS and Android portable devices. The app also allows saving presets, adjusting/triggering lighting effects, luminance, and CCT, as well as installation of firmware updates, all from your smartphone or tablet.
Dual Output Modes
Constant Output Mode allows precision CCT adjustment while maintaining constant luminance, and even shift color temperature seamlessly during a scene. Max Output Mode will maximize CCT and dimming levels within the 4000-5500K range.
Bowens S-Mount Versatility
The integrated Bowens-S mount allows using an almost limitless number of available modifiers to narrow, diffuse, or otherwise sculpt the light to suit any application or creative vision.

Perfect for lighting a smaller space!

I use these to light up a medium sized room and they do amazing. I don't think they would be too great outdoors if you're trying to set the light up far away from the scene in order to light up a very large area though. If you want to do that, apurture makes brighter versions of these lights for $1600. Then also you should buy the large diffuser that they sell too, that is a must actually.

Quality build and good light source

Works great solo and I also pair this with my 600c RGB. Bi-color flexibility is a nice feature.

    Top Notch Light

I was torn between the 300d and this light, but decided on the X to allow me to quickly handle mixed lighting conditions. I have an original 120D...this light is substantially brighter. Incredibly well built. The fit and finish is top notch. I think for most, the big question will be - this or the 300D. And that all depends on what you shoot. I've read if you gel a 300D to match say tungsten, you get about the same light output vs using the equivalent temp on the 300X. So I'd say if you'll need the extra light output more than you need to adjust for mixed lighting conditions, you might be better off with a 300D and a gel. For my use case, I'd rather not bother with the silly gels. If I find I need more light, I'll use a fresnel and bounce - or spring for the 600X.

    Everything I hoped for

Good color rendition, good output, good adjustability. I even might use some of the effects. Love the big round soft box, it gives me a key and a fill using one light only, and good eye sparkle. I will get some more attachments, likely the small soft box and fresnel. I used it on 110 and 220 and with v-mount batteries. The light is well designed, attaches to the light stand, cables lock, good quality. Packs well, semi rigid case is pretty good too. For air travel I put it in a Pelican case however. I don't love the Bluetooth app for the iPhone - it looses its connection after a minute and then I have to repeat the pairing process. That could be better. Still 5 stars!

    Big upgrade

Big upgrade over the Godox versions. Virtually silent. Case is nice. Pro build quality.

    What's not to like?!

I have been stacking two Kino Flo Diva's and punching them through a 12x12 silk to get a soft light for years. The 300x is a game changer. With the Light Dome II, I can get an even softer light and with so much less hassle! I'm very happy with the color accuracy and I love that I can dial that and the intensity in with the Sidus app. I can't wait to get the 600x.

    I love it.

I own 2 of them and I plan on buying 2 more. It does have a design flaw: you can pull the V-Mount batteries off it without pressing the release button. You should watch Potatoe Jet review of the Aputure 300x.
