No the Canon r6 does not take CFexpress cards, only SDXC or SDHC. This is a perfect card for the r5, however.

The specs for the SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B do not mention thermal throttling, but independent tests have reported that this card thermal throttles at around 149°F.
