Will this work between a mixing board and an android smartphone? Using an auxiliary output from the mixer
Asked by: Ken
No, this cable is intended for connecting a dynamic microphone with the input on a smartphone. Since you will be connecting the output from a mixer, which is a louder line level signal (not mic level), you will need to use an attenuator (level matching) cable that will pad the line level signal from the mixer and make it compatible with the mic level input on a smartphone. If you will be connecting from a mixer's XLR output, you will want to send both the left and right output signals so you will need a cable like the Sescom SES-43DB-# 43 dB Pad DSLR Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2XJ) combined with a USB-C adapter such as the Apple USB Type-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APMU7E2AMA) to convert the 3.5mm TRS plug to USB-C. If you have other output options on the mixer, such as RCA (Tape output), you can use the Sescom SES-43DB-# 43 dB Pad DSLR Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2P). Please
