I absolutely love this keyboard folio case! I love the texture of the keys, they type feel, and portability of it. I am writing this review with it! I have never bought anything from B&H before but this purchase had me become a grateful customer! There are only two things I wish the keyboard did have, a media control bar above the numbers, and some sort of backlight, but those two "wants" doesn't mean I dislike this in any way because I LOVE this keyboard. 10/10 would recommend! :)

Great protection and keyboard. Folds all the way over to allow using iPad just as a tablet, whereas the Magic one doesn't. I only wish the keyboard was backlit.

The keyboard isn't back-lite like the Magic one, but so what? You can't use the Magic one just as a tablet unless you remove it first, because the Magic doesn't fold back on itself.

A year ago I had let myself be talked into a Logitech keyboard for my new iPad. Never got comfortable with it and finally bought the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio. Am totally at home with this keyboard and especially appreciate its light weight vs. the Logitech.

Great keyboard and cover

I bought the Smart Keyboard Folio instead of the Magic Keyboard because I wanted something smaller and less costly. I'm happy I did. I just wanted a basic keyboard and a cover. It works as advertised. The only negative is that it's a little heavier than I would have liked. It covers both sides, the older model only covers one side. I'm not disappointed.

When this is flipped over to use as a tablet, do the keys still function? What I'm worried about is using this as a drawing tablet on my lap and having the keys interfere with what I'm trying to do as they get pressed by the pressure of me drawing on the screen.

No. When flipped over in tablet mode, the keyboard on this Apple Smart Keyboard Folio for 12.9" iPad Pro (5th Generation) would not be functional.

I type on a Dvorak keyboard. Obviously, the actual keyboard will show a 'QWERTY' layout, but will the keyboard touch-type in Dvorak if the iPad is set internally on Dvorak? Thank you in advance for any responses.

The physical keys of the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio will be QWERTY. If you set your keyboard layout to Dvorak on the iPad, you can type in that format but you would have to already know the keyboard layout to apply keyboard stickers.
