JBL Bar 9.1 Reviews

Oof! It's doesn't charge while docked?!?!?

I bought this and returned it within 2 weeks. It does not charge the rear speakers while docked and "charging". If in use, the docked speakers use their batteries for power - regardless of position. Use within the workday guarantees lack of use after work. Sucks to know that using the speakers to stream music means no movie time thereafter. Whole situation is covered in weak sauce.

Side speaker not connecting

Speaker worked great for a few month. then one of the side speaker stopped working. When i hit the power button the side speaker will connect and play for a few seconds then stop. Firmware is up to date. Disappointed seeing how much these speakers cost and they are already...not working correctly.

Worst soundbar. Total waste of money.

You can only pair one device and if you switch to other device then you can’t connect back unless reset 1000 time. It has software issues design issues and sound issues. Don’t waste ur money

Great sound but sub stopped working

Bought this soundbar a few years ago and the subwoofer randomly stopped working when it wasn’t in use. It would not get power with all the general troubleshooting methods. When the product works it’s great except for the limited options to fine tune your set up.

My second one

I bought this for my main home and enjoyed it. Six months later, when I decided to upgrade my equipment at my second home, I chose the JBL Bar 9.1 again. It has a very good sound and NO wires. I love that the surround speakers detach from the main bar without messing with wires, satellites, cords, etc. It is neat and clean and barely noticeable in front of a black TV. Adjusting the bass, atmos, and surround speaker volume is simple to accomplish with the remote.

Currently there is not EQ setting to control treble/bass levels. Any chances that a future software update will improve those features?

As of today JBL has not announce new features, or firmware updates. However, it does not mean an EQ setting feature can't be posible with updates in the future.
