Is this compatible with Sony transmitter?

Is this compatible with Sony transmitter?
Asked by: Niclaus
The Rode Lavalier GO microphone will work with the Sony transmitters that are included with the Sony ECM-AW4 Bluetooth Wireless Microphone System (B&H # SOECMAW4), Sony ECM-W1M Wireless Microphone for Cameras with Multi-Interface Shoe (B&H # SOECMW1M), and Sony ECM-W2BT Camera-Mount Digital Bluetooth Wireless Microphone System for Sony Cameras (B&H # SOECMW2BT). These transmitters all have a standard 3.5mm TRS input for an external microphone. However, the Lavalier GO is not compatible for use with Sony UWP and UWP-D series transmitters because mic input on these transmitters has a locking 3.5mm TRS connector and uses a microphone with proprietary wiring. For example, the UTX-B40 transmitter included with the Sony UWP-D21 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System will not work with the Lavalier GO and requires a mic like the Sony ECM-V1BMP Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking Sony 3.5mm Connector (B&H # SOECMV1BMP) which has the correct connector and wiring configuration that the transmitter requires.

Can I plug this directly into the 3.5mm input on my PC?
Asked by: Larry
The Rode Lavalier GO has a standard 3.5mm TRS connector and it is a condenser type microphone which requires a small amount of voltage (plug-in power) that is supplied through the mic input on most recorders, cameras, and wireless transmitters. The Lavalier GO requires 2.7V of plug-in power. Many computers can supply plug-in power for condenser microphones, but not all of them do. So it is possible that the Lavalier GO will work with your PC, but the only way to be certain is to test it. If you have another condenser mic with a 3.5mm plug, test it with your computer. If it does not work, you can get a microphone like the Polsen OLM-10 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (B&H # POOLM10) which uses a battery to supply the voltage.

Asked by: Kaleb
In theory, yes, the Rode Lavalier GO Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for Wireless GO Systems will work with the Tascam DR-10L, however it lacks the locking mechanism on its connector to solidify its input connection to the Tascam.

can this mic be used in a guitar amplifier in the ...

can this mic be used in a guitar amplifier in the input?? or any other mic input karaoke system?
Asked by: Bigyna
The Rode Lavalier Go is a condenser type microphone which requires voltage to operate. It needs to be connected to an actual mic input that can supply plug-in power for the mic to work properly, like the input on a camera or recorder, or it needs to have its own power source, like a battery. Mic inputs on karaoke systems are typically 1/4" or XLR and are designed for use with dynamic type mic that does not require voltage. It's not just a matter of using an adapter, you do need to use a compatible microphone. For a lavalier style mic that can be used with a karaoke mic input, you could use the Polsen OLM-10 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (B&H # POOLM10) which uses a battery for power and also includes a 1/4" adapter.

Will this plugin to a RODElink system ok?

Will this plugin to a RODElink system ok?
Asked by: Anonymous
This will connect to the RodeLink transmitter, but be aware that it may pop out easily, because a locking 3.5mm is the appropriate connector type for that system. The Countryman B3 Omni Lavalier Mic, Low Sens, with 3.5mm Locking Connector for 15BT and 35BT Wireless Transmitters (White), BH #COB3W5FF5WAZ. would be a good white-colored lavalier mic for the RodeLink system
