Powered by a 10th Gen 1.3 GHz Intel Core i7-1065G7 Quad-Core processor, this Surface Book 3 can handle CPU-intensive tasks. There's also a SDXC card slot for additional storage and for transferring media, such as photos and videos.

The 15" PixelSense display features a 3240 x 2160 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The screen also has 10-point touch support, allowing you to detach it from the keyboard base and use it as a powerful tablet. The Surface Book 3 features a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM, allowing you to play Xbox Game Pass PC titles at Full HD 1080p at 60 fps. Its Max-Q design helps balance performance and battery life for mobile gaming. You can also connect an Xbox Wireless Controller (sold separately) if you prefer to use a controller.

Outfitted with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), the Surface Book 3 allows you to stay connected with next-gen Wi-Fi standards and increased bandwidth. While the Surface Book 3 has a single USB Type-C port and two USB Type-A ports for connecting peripherals and accessories, you can opt to go wireless with Bluetooth 5.0. There is a 5MP front camera that lets you video chat in 1080p while the rear 8MP camera allows you take high-res photos and videos. Windows 10 Home is the installed operating system.

15" Surface Book 3
10th Gen Intel Core Performance
The Surface Book 3 houses a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor. Its quad cores can reach a stock speed of 1.3 GHz and be boosted up to 3.9 GHz.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q Graphics
The Surface Book 3 features a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM, allowing you to play Xbox Game Pass PC titles at Full HD 1080p at 60 fps. Its Max-Q design helps balance performance and battery life for mobile gaming.
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) is the next-gen Wi-Fi standard, improving a variety of features including data rates, capacity, performance in dense environments, and power efficiency.
Different Modes
The Surface Book 3 offers three different modes. Laptop Mode is the traditional clamshell design with a full keyboard and a large, responsive trackpad. Studio Mode lets you draw, write, and sketch with precision with a Surface Pen and a Surface Dial (both sold separately) at a comfortable angle. Tablet Mode lets you swipe through photos and browse the web by just using the touchscreen.
Battery Life
When connected to the keyboard base, the Surface Book 3 provides up to 17.5 hours of battery life. It also has improved standby to extend the battery life when not in use.
Windows 10 Home
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

The perfect balance of laptop and tablet

I've owned a Surface Pro for years, and love the portability and the ability to turn it into a tablet. However, I needed a bigger screen and more battery life. The Surface Book 3 hit the spot! I have to put it into battery saver mode and dim the screen a bit, but the batter lasted all day long and the bigger screen is awesome. It is a bit bigger and bulkier than the Surface Pro, but that's to be expected with a bigger screen and bigger battery, so no surprise there. Overall, it's exactly what I need.

I liked my version one of the surface book very much. However after owning it 3 years I sat a pen in the keyboard tray and in low light closed the screen. the pen shattered the screen and that was the end of my surfacebook.

Got this from B&H fast and efficiently from US to Dubai. Only hope that the Surface book will last and not develop any problems after a while. My wife's 13 had a bloating battery after 2 years and ran very hot. I bought now the 15 32gb-2 TB top model and till now all seems good - only fans kick in with datamodeling in excel power pivot (although performance slider on left low side). Rest all very good!

So many bugs

First of all, I love Microsoft. I love SQL server, Power BI, Azure... I saw the Surface Book 3 and fell in love with the concept of disconnecting the screen, using pen, etc. I was very enthusiastic when I got it - it looks and feels AWESOME! But now come bad things: - the touch screen stops working after several minutes of working with Slim Pen. I need to restart it. Searched several forums and other people have this issue as well. - My screen's battery drains in one hour - When I connect it via dock 2 to two external screens - I doesn't work at once. I need to attach the Dock 4 or 5 times before both screens start working - I've got 3 blue screens of death in two days It is a very expensive piece of equipment and I expect it to work as it's supposed to

I bought MS SB3 for personal and business daily use. I really enjoyed this product as a first experience for me with MS surface products. I use it for everything without any limitation with a great performance. Its keyboard is totally different than I I ever used. B&H international delivery with DHL was a very fast despite of Covid-19 situation in US. I will buy a hard cover to SB3 to keep it free from scratching. Also, I always keep it in a Separate pocket without anything else to avoid screen scratch or crack by any small items “like pen” can fall between the screen and keyboard. It is a piece of art by MS. Until now, I do not have anything to dislike.

It was for my son when he went to college in fall. He loves it because it is fast and has the detachable screen, which makes it more flexible for him for drawing.

Just what I needed!

When travelling I want to transfer raw NEF files from my Nikon D810 CF memory cards to an external drive. Does the SDXC slot accept my CF memory cards?
Asked by: David
SDXC and CF are different form factors and will not work on this Surface Book. You'll have to connect a memory card reader with a CF slot to transfer the files.

With 32GB of RAM on this Surface, you could run 4 virtual machines simultaneously. Be aware though, that your CPU usage should be taken into consiration when assigning tasks to each. If possible, consider a laptop with more CPU cores.
