160 Hz Refresh Rate (OC) & 1 ms Response Time
A 160 Hz refresh rate combined with a 1 ms response time reduces lag and motion blur for a more fluid and responsive experience that's ideal for fast-paced action games such as first-person shooters, racing, RTS, and sports games. Please note, 160 Hz refresh rate only supported with DisplayPort. Max refresh rate for HDMI is 85 Hz.

Upgraded from an Asus 24 inch 1080 and it is amazing I've been looking at this monitor since release and finally was able to get one. Even found it here used and cheaper than expected. No problems with it at all works perfectly. Highly recommend if someone is looking for an ultra wide!!

Good but not great

Bought this to replace a 6-year-old Dell U3514W. The Dell was far more polished from a convenience and functionality perspective - built in USB switch, additional inputs, DP output, better OSD/menu system, picture-in-picture, built-in speakers, and a more functional stand. Better color calibration out of the box as well. Great office/content creation monitor, but as a gaming monitor, the 60Mhz refresh rate wasn't cutting it. The LG panel obviously wins out in refresh rate, FreeSync/G-Sync support, and HDR (although HDR doesn't look that great - the contrast ratio isn't very good, so highlights end up blown out). Response times are quick and it handles 144hz refresh rates without issue. The LG has the same problem most IPS panels do with blacks really being dark grey. Lastly, my monitor developed a single dead sub-pixel about three weeks into ownership, so I'm waiting to see if more of them crop up. For the price, I'd look elsewhere.

Exceptional fast delivery !!! Got this in 2 days Monitor came in prestine condition !! No dead pixels Very satisfied with this LG panel buttery smooth. 1 thing I don't like is the external power brick but that's on lg not b&h photo. Thank you

Can the mounting plate from a vesa arm fit if it ...

Can the mounting plate from a vesa arm fit if it includes not just 100mmx100mm hole dimensions like this monitor has, but also larger dimensions? looking at the rear photo, there's a square recess for the included stand to insert into. I'm worried that unless the mounting plate on the arm I buy is exactly 100x100, it might be too large and not fit properly.

It would have to be Mounting-Hole Pattern 100 x 100 mm. Larger or smaller ones is not recommended.

Does the a lack of local dimming make gaming better with HDR off, or is it still a worthwhile upgrade to visuals to turn HDR on even without the local dimming?

Its only HDR400, so my suggestion is to leave it off. I think the games and anything else looks better with it turned off. Now if it was HDR1000 then I would suggest turning it on.

No its not, its a 34" 21:9 Curved Ultrawide 160Hz 3440 x 1440 IPS Monitor. Comes default at 100Hz, but can be turned up to 160Hz in onboard settings with the right DisplayPort cable.

The LG UltraGear 34GN850-B 34" 21:9 Curved 160 Hz Adaptive-Sync HDR IPS Gaming Monitor does not have an LED RGB ring on the back. HDR can be turned on from your Windows 10 Display settings.
