The Cello² really comes into its own when combined with the remarkably powerful yet simple-to-use Composer app. With built-in Bluetooth 5, you can control the fixture from up to 100' away with the same quick response you get from the LCD screen. A newly designed power system lets you power through lengthy shoots and live streams on DC power as well as charge a battery while plugged in via the DC or USB Type-C port. While the fixture is compact enough to fit atop a camera or camcorder using the included ball head adapter, it can also be mounted on light stands for creative, off-camera lighting scenarios.

Luxli Cello RGB LED Light Reviews
Still the best for travel, but not perfect
Nothing beats this light for travel. Trust me, I'm on a plane every week with a full portable studio in a suitcase, and I've tried EVERYTHING. Yes it is pricey, but after buying much larger lights and getting simply good performance, I bit the bullet and bought two of these. That said, why not perfect? Well, like its predecessor, I do wish it wouldn't make crackling noises when it heats up. It's the price we pay for so much power in such a small package, and yet, I'm willing to ignore it given how I can carry two of these in my carry-on and take less space than two pairs of socks.
Amazing light needs better build quality and more modifiers
It's an amazing lighting unit, very powerful and very capable, and color accurate, but I wish a butter build quality and more threading points, and unfortunately there are only a couple of modifiers available for it and no third party available
I like this light A lot!
I have been using two of the Cellos pretty heavily for a few years now and they have been very good. I bought one of the new ones and I think that they have addressed some of the issues that were bothering me. One was the overheating when using the rubber mounted diffuser after a half hour or so it would cut out (hitting 183). I popped the barndoors and diffuser on and an hour later it was only at 138. Speaking of the barn doors, I am happy with the way they work and construction quality. If they aren't long enough in any application at least there is something to pin black wrap or diffusion onto. The low profile knobs are welcome as they have been an issue when packing them (managed to break one of my old diffusers.) I am fond of the Luxli App, it's quick and consistent across the whole line, great when using this light as a backlight!
The future is here.
Fast delivery to Australia. This light and App is faultless in design and quality. It is the future of filmmaking.
Perfect addition to my Taiko and Fiddle LUXLI family
I own a LUXLI taiko for almost 2 years, also the LUXLI Fiddle the day it was released. Never had a problem with neither one. And if I ever did, simply email or call LUXLI tech support and they will take care of whatever the problem is. Also, reminding you that these lights are not made in China. They are carefully crafted and not uncontrollably mass produced. LUXLI is made in Norway. Both the Taiko and Fiddle are made of metal. Well... Sometimes, metal is not a good thing. The Cello is made of plastic, with the 'on camera thought in mind. If it were made of metal, it would cause your camera to be front heavy, not to mention I don't want to touch metal in the cold winters when using it on my camera. To make it even lighter, you can power the light using a USB-C PD (power delivery) powered from your intelligent Micro V-Mount USB-C port, instead of the Sony NPF battery (you decide the location you'll mount your V-Mount battery somewhere in your rig though...) The light comes with everything you need: A battery, a generous length USB-C cable, plus the proper charger brick this unit requires. It will also charge the battery while plugged in during use via USB-C as the main power source. This is excellent when you're shooting a corporate video, so you use the light plugged in via USB-C, then, suddenly, they ask you to go film a quick take in another room, ot outdoors, at 6pm. You'll need a light...Then you use it with the Sony battery. When returning to the main room that were shooting that interview, plug it back in and the battery is now back to charging. Lastly, the same way it is a good idea to film a multiple camera project using the same camera and model (they would have the same exact profile and look identical), having multiple lighting gear of the same brand, the lighting will be more even, having the same color cast (not too green, nor magenta etc), the CCT will be also identical if you set, for example, all to 5200K, since it will be the same exact LEDs on all lights, with the same software and type. So, Combining the LUXLI Taiko as the main key light, a Timpany as a fill, the Cello2 and the rim light or background light, and the Fiddle as the hair light, instead of mixing all kinds of lights from different brands. When you watch the News, all the lighting from their stage ceiling are the same brand and type. The same goes for high end filmmakers. I actually made a Youtube video specifically for the Cello 2 in extreme detail, which will help you a lot knowing more details about the cello 2, possibly answering every question you might have, including all accessories that are optional with this light such as barn door and diffuser. My Favorite LED Light Hands Down!!
The Luxli Cello2 is the perfect LED RGB Light! The 10 size is perfect for lighting a subject perfectly with very little drop-off and nice even spread. The controls are simple and when you use the Luxli App you can really unleash the full power of this creative, easy to use, powerhouse of a light. I recently used it as a key light for one of my photoshoots and the 56K daylight is spot on! I Highly Recommend. [I received the product in exchange for my honest opinion]
My favorite eyelight
The new model with barn doors and mag attach diffuser has taken care of any issues that I had with the prior release. I normally carry one each of a variety of instruments for doing location lighting. I take three of these. Softer and more powerful than you would expect with a comprehensive control system that is on a very functional Bluetooth app.
Powerful small form factor light with loads of features!
I've been using their originalI purchased the original Cello several ago when it was first released and after years of beating it up in my bag and on the road it still works as well as it did on day one. As a professional filmmaker and Sony Artisan of imagery I love having it tucked away in my bag taking up so little space but there when I need light in a hurry. The new V2 has a greatly improved accessory attachment system (magnetic) and makes popping a diffuser on and off so much easier as well as barn doors to help shape the light. It's visibly brighter that the V1 and I appreciate having a usb-c port on it instead of the older style. All in all it's a beefy upgrade that's definitly worth taking a look at. [I received this product in exchange for my honest review.] Cello for years (since it's release)
