CAME-TV Q-55S Overview

The CAME-TV Boltzen Q-55S 55W Bi-Color LED Fresnel 2-Light Kit with Case contains versatile light sources to build a kit around, use solo on the fly, or on location where battery power is a valuable asset. The flexible fixture has adjustable color temperature, dimming, and AC or battery options. The kit includes 2 Q-55S lights, each with removable four-way barndoors, an AC adapter, a D-Tap cable, a diffusion filter, and a milky-white diffusion filter. A Remote LED Commander is included to wirelessly control the lights, as is a carry case to store and transport it all.

The Boltzen Q-55S employs a Chip-on-Board light source with a variable 3200 to 5600K color temperature to meet any ambient light challenge, blend seamlessly with other fixtures, or just exercise creative expression. The light's high CRI of 97 is an indicator of advanced accuracy in color rendering. The Q-55S is also dimmable, and while you can adjust the color temperature and light intensity locally on the fixture, you can also do it wirelessly from an optional controller thanks to the fixture's built-in Wi-Fi. The Q-55S has spot-to-flood focusing capability from 20 to 40 degrees to vary your coverage, while the included 4-way barndoors allow for further control of the beam angle. You can use the light worldwide thanks to its 100 to 240 VAC power adapter, but you can also run it on two optional NP-F970 batteries or a D-Tap-equipped battery when AC power is unavailable. A filter set is included to help you soften the output. It all fits in the padded case with shoulder strap.

CAME-TV Q-55S Reviews

Best light for weddings

This light is the best light I have used for weddings. I can plug it in or use batteries and it's portable. It works like a charm.

Solid light for the price

I was immediately impressed with the features of this light when I opened it. It fell sturdier then I thought it would for being so inexpensive. I wish it was a little stronger (considering I will defuse it most of the time) but I guess I can't be too greedy with this price point. The only thing I wish it did was use one battery instead of two. You need two in order to power the light and I wish that wasnt the case. Otherwise, I have been pleased with this light so far.

What is the main difference in these compared to the other sets?

The CAME-TV Boltzen Q-55S 55W Bi-Color LED Fresnel 3-Light Kit (B&H# CAQ55S3) differs from these. . . CAME-TV Boltzen Q-55S Focusable 55W Fresnel Bi-Color LED 2-Light Kit (B&H# CAQ55S2) and CAME-TV Boltzen B-55S Focusable 55W Fresnel Bi-Color LED 2-Light Kit with Batteries (B&H# CAQ55S4B) . . . because those kits have just two lights. One of those kits comes with batteries, too, whereas the CAME-TV Boltzen Q-55S 55W Bi-Color LED Fresnel 3-Light Kit (B&H# CAQ55S3) does not. These take "Sony L-series compatible batteries" (very commonly yet erroneously called "Sony NP-F batteries") or many large batteries (e.g. most "V-Mount batteries"), examples of which are given in the Accessories section of this product webpage or by searching for those terms using the search bar on the B&H website.

What is the watt output of the light ?

What is the watt output of the light ?
Asked by: Paul
The Boltzen draws 55 watts. Its equivalent brightness compared to tungsten light will vary based on color temperature selected and angle of beam, but a good rule of thumb is multiply the draw by 4 for a conservative estimate and 5 as the high side . So, between 220 and 275 watts equivalent.
