Pengo Technology 8RGR2-H01C01T0PE Reviews

Working great!

So far I have only used this a couple times, but it worked seamlessly right from the start and has worked exactly as I needed it to. It's been nice using this instead of a larger capture device, as it takes up much less space and requires fewer cables to perform the same task.

I was not happy with my cam link 4k due to inconsistency issues, decided to get this and couldn't have been more pleased.

Works Well, but had to use 30 FPS

Was initially frustrate and thought I was going to send this back. I could not get any photo signal from a PTZOptics camera connected via HDMI--just a blank screen. I finally changed the setting on the camera from 1080P/60 FPS to 1080P/30 FPS and it started working perfectly. The specs say is should handle 60 FPS so I'm not sure what the issue was. This unit is significantly less expensive than other HDMI to USB converters and was recommended by a B&H support tech.

Video Grabber

I was looking for a way I could take a video with a Panasonic HC-V770 and live stream to facebook. I was told before I called B&H I needed this software and that software and I was overwhelmed with software. I called the B&H help line and within minutes I had help on the line. I was told to purchase a Pengo Technology 1080 HDMI to USB Grabber and that would solve my problem. I was tiod it would work right out of the box. I received the Grabber and the help lint was right. It did work right oout of the box. so far I'm very satisified with its performance.

Using this video grabber with a camcorder to live stream music video performances over the internet. Using it with a Mac and It worked right out of the box. It's nice, and unexpected, when that happens. So far so good. Thanks Pengo!

This is basically a video capture card powered via its own USB 3.0 connection. I use it to convert the standard HDMI output of a Sony Alpha Camera to a UVC (USB Video Class) signal which can be connected to a USB Type C connector and processed by compatible software. Once you have the UVC signal accessible on a USB 3.0 port it can be used as a source in OBS or Zoom or other compatible software. I connect it to the USB 3.0 port on my Sony Xperia 1 iii smartphone using this cable: ZILR Hyper-Thin High-Speed Micro-HDMI to HDMI Cable with Ethernet (17.7) . I then use a third party Android software package on the Xperia to monitor the video and stream it to YouTube. This was plug and play in my application. Once everything was connected, I could easily select the device as a Video Source in my Android application.

According to Pengo this device is compatible with OBS as long as the computer has a USB 3.0 port. it will support 1080p at 59.94. It does not support 1080i, nor supports 24fps. It only supports 1080p60, 720p60 and 480p60.

Try Connecting it using with the USB Type-C to USB Type-A adaptor. It should come with it. We had issues using the Type C on computers, but the connector to make it Type-A worked. You also may want to make sure you have the right setting on the PTZ Optics camera to make sure you are using 1080p 30FPS (assuming you are using that). It should correspond to a dial on the bottom of the camera with a number, I believe.
