Way too bright LED's

Had to put a black tape over the LED's, because they are too bright. Otherwise, the performance is as expected. The CFexpress card gets warm, so be aware of that.

Runs cool with the aluminum frame and no problems.

Took it out ot the box, plugged it in and loaded two memory cards and it did what it was designed to do. Runs cool also as the aluminum case acts as a heat sink.

Lights too bright

The activity lights are way too bright. Can't look at them in the daylight. The Write Protect Lock switch does not apply to the SD card slot.

I was nervous about a card reader that wasn't from a big brand (or at least not one I've heard of) but I've been using this daily for a little over a month with no problems.

1) Cards get extremely hot 2) This unit is very light weight so it does not stay put in desk (I think it is so light because it lack proper heat sink) 3) LEDs are too bright and never turn off even without any cards inserted, moreover LEDs stay on even when the PC goes into sleep mode. 4) Write-protect switch only works with CFExpress cards but not with SDs The manufacturer's answer to my complains was Sorry. The issues will be reported to the product manager so they can be corrected with a new chip and firmware update in the future. In the meantime the only solution suggested by the manufacturer is to unplug the unit when not being used which is absolutely ridiculous. Bottom line is both the manufacturer and the distributor (B&H) will not do anything about it so I wasted $79.
