How quickly does the f stop drop when zooming in? 20-60 is not a very wide range change, so I'm wondering how slow this lens will be around 35mm.
Asked by: David
There is a relatively linear rate of decrease in aperture as the focal length changes/increases. The apertures of the Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 at each marked focal length are as follows: 20mm f/3.5, 24mm f/3.8, 28mm f/4, 35mm f/4.5, 50mm f/5.3, and 60mm f/5.6.

Does this lens does not offer the linear focus ...

Does this lens does not offer the linear focus feature as found in the S Pro series of lenses?
Asked by: David
I'm trying to determine if the 20-60 has the linear focus option when focusing MANUALLY, like the S 24mm and my S Pro 24-70 lens. This provides much better feedback and accuracy than typical focus-by-wire lenses. Per the Panasonic S 24mm: "Benefitting professional video applications, linear focus ring control for mechanical-based follow focus systems moves the focus at a constant speed in accordance with the rotating angle of the focus ring."
