Windows 10

Start Menu

After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.

Cortana

Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.

Microsoft Edge

After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.

Xbox on Windows 10

Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

Windows Store

For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.

Windows Continuum

Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.

A BEAST FOR CREATIVES

I've been searching for a laptop that could handle everything I threw at it and this is it. I've been using for a month now and it has not skipped a beat ever. I have been doing heavy vide editing, photoshop, 3d modeling, and even some gaming and it just impresses in everything I throw at it. Great build quality, looks extremely professional, and is very portable. Seriously very happy with this product. It's my first razer product ever, but so far had left a great impression. I also have to mention B&H, the experience buying here was outstanding, super fast shipping, good customer service, great all around.

Razer always does it with aesthetic and performance. Don't expect to be able to push 4k 60 on it, but running at 1440p is fine for a screen this size. Oled display is fantastic.

Photo capture station

After scouring the web/market for a top shelf option with some concessions. I landed on the razer 4k base and have not been disappointed. Sure I'd like 8 cores but something had to give. 16gb Ram is fine. I'll move to 32 or 64(?) Eventually. I believe it will utilize that amount. There is a 2nd m.2 slot. Which will for certain be populated by a 2nd SSD soon. The ability to upgrade these 2 things brings this machine in the spec realm of a mid 4K MacBook with a newer chip. The black aluminum on this thing is a dream, and the Oled screen is brilliant. Super blacks. The razer emblem is little gaudy so I skinned it matte on the top so I won't stick out too much in photo studios filled with ONLY macs. Its quite good in capture one. And in photoshop I opened and exported a 1.7 gig file as fast as my 4 Ghz 6 core haswell desktop. Very solid. Keyboard is not too bad. Nothing bothers me. The thinness of the screen is wild. Its such a compact machine. Paired with a C stand and a tether tools aero plate. This is a chic studio machine. I know it'll grab some eyes. But its all substance. For me the base is the way to go. Its also quite capable for gaming. Some strategy games in 4k. The rest in 1440. It gets loud, and ompared to the other laptops that use this 10750h chip, it doesn't let it get as hot as in other machines and subsequently performance is down a tick. Im willing to live with the tradeoff of performance for longevity. Does get loud occasionally. Bottom line is it fits incredibly well for me. I can't wait to game on the train after a day in the studio.
