I bought this monitor for high school sports streaming. I use a Marshall CV346 with a zoom lens as a scoreboard camera. It gets placed pretty far away from my mixer, so it used to be a pain to get that camera focused in. I use HDMI for the camera feed and leave a short SDI cable on the camera that I can connect to this monitor. I can get the camera dialed in and leave the SDI on the camera. It works perfectly for that. I am also starting to use the monitor on my main camera as well. I can get through 2 basketball games with the dual batteries. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the menu options take a little getting used to.

This monitor is a replacement for my old Andycine sdi 4k monitor. It is brighter and sharper than many monitors this size. I can see in full sun with little issue. That is my main concern is framing.i use it in a pretty rough environment on a camera dolly. The last one finally took its last hit and I bought this one.

This monitor was great until the SDI input failed the fifth time I used it. I'll see how it goes with customer support, but as it stands, I'd advise to either buy something cheaper if you want a disposable monitor, or something more expensive if you need a dependable monitor. Andycine is a waste of time.

There's a Learning Curve...

Almost returned it because the Touchscreen instructions card said to do a short press on the power/touch button... - but what worked for me just before I requested an RMA (because it wouldn't turn on) was a long press. After that it seems all good. Note: The long press is (obviously) to turn the unit on and off and is explained in the manual. The Tilt Arm has pegs that match the detents in the monitor near the mount points. These are not set to hold the monitor vertically (see photo) and should be adjusted by addressing the lock nut and adjusting it to your preferred viewing angle after you choose which mounting point you want to use. A feature of the Tilt Arm is an additional cold shoe but as delivered it's too close to the thumb screw handle to mount anything wider than the shoe (see photo). Again, this can probably be adjusted by addressing the lock nut and making the proper adjustment. The rest is apparently as advertised. It's bright and easy to use. I just don't know how to use the focus assist and zebra functions I guess I'll get a video handbook for features like those.

can the c7 be used to power the black magic pcc 6k ?
Asked by: Anthony
You will need to use an external battery that has an additional port so that you can connect a cable with a dummy battery or a 2-pin LEMO cable from the battery to the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K.

I use autofocus on Canon EOS R by tapping the screen. If I use an external monitor, can I still use autofocus? I heard that the screen of the camera shuts off. Is this true?
Asked by: jerry
Before connecting an external monitor to the EOS R make sure you have the clean HDMI setting set to on. That way the on camera screen will not turn off. Then you can use the touch focus on the on camera screen.

Have a sony a6600. Can I use hdmi output of the camera to the monitor and then use hdmi cable to connect monitor to my desktop which will be used for zoom meetings?
Asked by: Ozzie
The HDMI port on your computer is output only, unless you have a capture card built into your system (like this PCIe one:https://bhpho.to/2VTwdj1). You will need a capture card (via PCIe or USB) for your computer/desktop/laptop: https://bhpho.to/2VTwdj1 Once you have a capture card, you may daisy-chain it from the A6600 to the monitor to the computer (via the capture card's HDMI-to-USB input).

can I connect hdmi output of the monitor to my desktop and use it for zoom?.
Asked by: Ozzie
The HDMI output will pass the video signal to another destination however you will need either an external or internal capture device/card to get the video sent from this monitor into your computer. you can find some of the capture cards/devices here https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/products/Computer-Video-Hardware/ci/16557/N/4231656263?filters=fct_a_filter_by%3A03_INSTOCK%2Cfct_interface_1202%3Aexternal-usb-3.0-capture%7Cexternal-usb-c-capture%7Cexternal-usb-capture%7Cpcie%7Cpcie-2.0%7Cpcie-2.0-x8%7Cpcie-3.0%7Cpcie-x4%7Cpcie-x8%7Cusb-3.0%2Cfct_video-input_2106%3Ahdmi
