The Halo 16C Bi-Color Tunable RGBWW 16" LED Ring Light from NanLite features has a distinctive form factor and a color temperature that's variable from 2700 to 6500K to match other fixtures, ambient light conditions, or just for creative expression. It's also dimmable from 0 to 100%. These adjustments can be made by a clever touchpad, accessible from the front and rear. The Halo 16C also has another trick up its sleeve: RGBWW that gives the user a choice of 360 colors to add a personal touch to your work. Ideal for selfies, the ring light has a central opening of 12" allowing you to use the provided smartphone bracket to shoot through it for a smooth near-shadowless effect that is flattering to your talent's (or your) complexion. No Stand Included!
It is hard to believe the stand is not included in this purchase. A notice that the stand is not included would have been helpful. It is very heavy, and the stand is definitely needed.
The light quality is amazing!
I recently got one of the Nanlite light tubes and was impressed; so when I needed a ring light for meetings and simple web videos I went out on a limb and gave this ring light a try. It provides a nice even light and it's bright enough that I can use it as a traditional studio light too. I've even started using it's RGB color features to get creative with my backgrounds. It's quickly proving to be a swiss army knife of sorts. Side by side, it blows my bargain brand lights out of the water. I'm starting to look at my old lights with contempt.
Great For MakeUp Artists and Hairstylists!
I love this light - the options of lighting temperatures and colors means that I can see what the talent looks like in nearly all lighting situations they might encounter on set. It's SUPER lightweight which means I can bring it with me everywhere without having worry about adding too much additional weight. The ability to place a camera inside the halo means I always get perfectly lit shots for my portfolio and continuity!
Very impressed, only one qualm
This thing is awesome! Dimmable, adjustable RGB and color temp, super lightweight, and I love how the power pack on the power adapter cable has a built in strain relief loop! Only issue is the dimming function is by touch operation and it goes from 4 power to 14,24,34 etc. wish it had more fine tuning, 1 power increment at a time. Love it, highly recommended!
The perfect ring light for photographers
I wanted a ring light that was lightweight, didn't take up too much space, but powerful enough for my makeup artists on set - this was perfect. Turns out having the extra ability to change the colors and color temperature is a HUGE bonus for different creative applications. Excited to try new creative ideas with this ringlight!
