A clear CMOS button is also present, allowing users to update the BIOS via the USB 2.0 port using a flash drive, available separately. Internally, the B550-I Gaming also sports headers for USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, including one Type-C and two Type-A ports. A USB 2.0 header provides support for two USB 2.0 ports on the front panel. In addition to a CPU and chassis fan header, the B550-I Gaming also features a dedicated VRM heatsink fan header. Headers for front audio and rear speaker connections are also present, as are headers for RGB lighting.

The ASUS B550-I Gaming mini-ITX motherboard features SupremeFX 7.1 Surround Sound as well as Aura Sync RGB lighting. ASUS EUFI BIOS is included for users to fine-tune their settings - including overclock settings from an in-depth advanced mode or a more beginner-friendly EZ mode. The B550-I Gaming in compatible with the Windows 10 64-bit operating system.

PCIe 4.0 Support
The ROG Strix B550-I Gaming features two M.2 slots, one of which supports the PCIe 4.0 standard for storage flexibility, as well as faster data speeds over PCIe 3.0, via the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen platform. Both M.2 slots support socket sizes from 2242 up to 2280, while NVM Express RAID support can be used to boost performance.
Ready to Connect
Onboard Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) delivers faster speeds, improved capacity, and better performance over Wi-Fi 5 in dense wireless environments. Or, get an even more secure connection with onboard 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. With speeds that are 2.5 times faster than standard Ethernet connections, this wired connection allows for speedy file transfers, lag-free gaming, and high-res video streaming.
SupremeFX
Built-in ROG SupremeFX audio technology ensures accurate audio for the ROG Strix B550-I Gaming. Two front-panel outputs feature dual op-amps, powering headphones from 32-600 ohms. Additionally, this motherboard features backlit audio jacks on the rear I/O panel for easy identification.
Audio USB Type-C
The back I/O panel also sports a USB-Type-C port for digital audio-out. Featuring an integrated S210 control chip, this port automatically detects the type of connected device. As a result, this port can be used for both Type-C audio devices and standard USB Type-C devices as needed.
AI Noise-Canceling Microphone
AI noise-canceling microphone software is featured on ROG Strix motherboards and supports 3.5 mm, USB, or Bluetooth headsets. The utility leverages a massive deep-learning database to preserve the sound of your voice while eliminating keyboard clatter, mouse clicks, and other forms of environmental noise. And it only places a slight load on the CPU, ensuring minimal impact on gaming performance.
Sonic Studio III
Sonic Studio supports HRTF-based virtual surround sound for VR headsets. The intuitive Sonic Studio interface also offers EQ options and one-click presets, allowing you to tailor acoustics to suit personal preferences or the characteristics of your headset.
DTS: Sound Unbound
The ROG Strix B550-I Gaming comes pre-loaded with the DTS Sound Unbound app that uses Windows Sonic spatial technology to create a virtual 3D audio space. This technology is intended to provide greater directional awareness in regard to in-game sounds, including gunshots, footsteps, and other sounds.
ProCool II Power Connector
The ProCool socket is built to ensure flush contact with the PSU power lines, enabling lower impedance and better heat dissipation.
DIGI+ Power Control
ASUS DIGI+ Power Control is a set of controllers for digital VRM and DRAM voltage. These controllers offer precise memory and voltage tuning for system efficiency, stability, and performance.
Teamed Power Stages
The B550-I Gaming features 8+2 power stages that combine high-side and low-side MOSFETs and drivers into a single package, optimized for performance with 3rd Gen AMD CPUs.
Alloy Chokes and Capacitors
Durable alloy chokes and capacitors are engineered to resist extreme temperatures.
Cooling Innovation
Cooling options on the ROG Strix B550-I Gaming motherboard can be configured via Fan Xpert 4 or the UEFI BIOS. In addition to a dedicated pair of PWM/DC fan headers for CPU coolers and a PWM/DC header for self-contained water-cooling setups, this motherboard also features onboard headers supporting auto-detection of PWM or DC fans. A thermal pad helps transfer heat from the inductor and phase array to the heatsink, while a dedicated VRM heatsink provides a large contact area for the MOSFETs and chokes. An integrated fan enables efficient cooling for performance and wattage resistance. The 8-layer PCB also dissipates heat around the VRM, improving overall system stability and giving the CPU more overclocking headroom. The M.2 heatsink keeps the M.2 SSD at the optimum operating temperature for consistent performance and reliability.
ASUS OptiMem II
To provide AMD's 3rd Gen CPUs with access to memory bandwidth, motherboard trace routing has been reimagined with the ROG Strix B550-I Gaming. Integrated OptiMem II technology maps memory signal pathways across PCB layers to reduce vias, and it also adds shielding zones to reduce crosstalk. To provide more overclocking headroom for fully stacked memory configurations, a customized daisy chain layout delivers time-aligned signaling.
FlexKey
Front-panel header allows customization of the front-panel chassis reset button, providing options for quick access to Aura lighting controls, DirectKey, or system reset.
BIOS FlashBack
Users can place a BIOS file onto a FAT32-formatted USB drive and simply plug it into the USB BIOS FlashBack port and press a button to update the (UEFI) BIOS. Updates can be made even if memory or CPU aren't present.
5-Way Optimization
Take care of complex tuning with just one click. ASUS 5-Way Optimization is a system-wide tuning utility that overclocks the processor and tunes fan speeds to ensure balance between cooling and acoustics. This automated CPU tuning feature also runs a Prime95-based stress test that continually monitors the system.
TPU Insight
The TurboV Processing Unit, or TPU, provides AI Suite 3 with the intelligence needed to automatically fine-tune voltages, monitor system stats, and adjust overclocking settings. AI Suite 3 also provides AI Overclocking prediction values for users who want more insight when experimenting with different settings.
EPU Guidance
The Energy Processing Unit or EPU automatically optimizes power consumption with Away mode. This smart setting promotes energy conservation by shutting down unused I/O controllers.
Fan Xpert 4
Fan Expert 4 provides control over fans, water pumps and all-in-one coolers. Control is also possible via the ROG UEFI BIOS. Whether you're cooling with air or water, Auto-Tuning mode intelligently configures all parameters with a single click. There's also an Extreme Quiet mode, which reduces all fan speeds to below the default minimum - keeping your system quiet when performing light tasks.
Turbo App
This tool allows you to define CPU overclocking, apply fan profiles, prioritize network data, and optimize audio settings at app level.
UEFI BIOS
The ROG UEFI BIOS provides everything you need to configure, tweak, and tune your rig. It offers simplified options for newcomers to PC DIY, as well as comprehensive features for seasoned builders. Users can further configure their system via the UEFI's advanced mode, sporting a search function and granular parameters. An EZ mode is also present, allowing users can access vital settings and stats on a single page, while also taking advantage of guided wizards, drag-and-drop functionality, and one-click application of important settings.
