Delkin Devices 2TB CFexpress Type B Reviews
Speedy import and great storage
The quick import time to my external SSD is one step for me via Lightroom Classic (LrC), where I select the source (this media card connected via its card reader directly to my Mac ) and destination (the folders on the SSD which also are listed in LrC). After the files are copied to the SSD, LrC automatically builds the previews for editing: simple, fast, and efficient. Besides that, 2TB of storage serves as a second back up to another external back up hard drive and would be great for traveling when I don't want to take my laptop for storing many photos along the way.
Works Great with my Nikon Z7
Been using this for about six months now with my Nikon Z7 and haven't experienced a single problem so far. Great price, great card.
Amazing capacity and speed
I have used Delkin CFexpress 256GB cards before this and found them to be fast and with no buffer issues on my Nikon Z9 shooting at HE RAW+JPEG. The two 512GB cards give me as good a performance with as much as 7300 images each! Totally worth it!
Great Fast Card
I love this card for use with my Nikon Z9. It has very fast read and write speeds plus has plenty of space for my large image and video files.
Delkin Devices 512GB Power CFexpress Type B Memory Card
Delkin Devices offers the Power CFexpress Type B cards in five capacities, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Unlike the company's Black CFexpress Type B cards, the Power CFexpress cards have the same maximum data transfer speeds at every capacity, read: 1730 MB/s and write: 1540 MB/s. This is enabled by their use of a 3rd generation PCI Express interface and support of NVM Express. According to Delkin Devices, the Power CFexpress Type B cards are also 'shockproof, magnet proof, X-ray proof, anti-static, UV-guarded and resistant to extreme temperatures.' For my test of the Delkin Devices Power CFexpress Type B card, I set the 45.7Mp Nikon D850 to ISO 100 and manual focusing mode to avoid any focus delay or hunting and switched to Continuous High (extended) shooting. I then shot 45 14-bit uncompressed raw files in a single burst lasting around 4 seconds. This matches the 10fps maximum shooting rate, but Nikon claims a burst depth of up to 48 files. The difference may be explained by variations in the size of the files compared to Nikon's images. The images captured in the two file types are immediately available for review, and you're not left waiting with the camera locked up. However, it would be best to wait around 14 seconds before you can shoot another long burst of images. If you're not planning to shoot 8K videos regularly, the Delkin Devices Power CFexpress Type B makes a great choice of a CFexpress card. Although B&H has excellent customer service, should you experience any problems with the card, a nice bonus of the Delkin Devices CFexpress cards is that you get a 48-hour replacement guarantee if you register the card after purchase. This gives you the peace of mind that the company will replace the card within 48 hours if it stops working. You can send the card to Delkin Devices or take it to a Delkin Devices retailer for replacement. I think it's well worth the purchase. Enjoy your shooting experience.
Such a deal
I bought this one on sale at a great price. I have a bunch of Delkin cards and they have all been very reliable and fast.
Fast write speed and low temperature in Z8
I just received the Delkin Power G4 1 TB CF Express Type B memory card. I ran a quick test in my Nikon Z8 - just held the shutter for two minutes. The camera fired more than 1400 images and never slowed or used the buffer at all. I immediately removed the card and it was still at room temperature. For pre-release capture, auto capture, extended video, or a series of bursts at high frame rates - this is a terrific card and at a very good price. One note - before using the card I ran a full format and then a quick format in the camera. I'm not sure that it's necessary - just a way to make sure the card is correctly formatted before use.
Great card for the price...
Speeds that seem to match that of the competitors. Quality build and no issues after about four months of use. I love that they have serial numbers as it means Delkin will support each item as if they are not batch-made by a robot in China. Maybe they are and I am a fool for thinking otherwise but, it's a pretty solid gimmick if that ios the case.
