edelkrone SliderPlus V5 Camera Slider Overview

The edelkrone SliderPLUS v5 Long is designed with movable rails that travel during a slide to give you extra travel distance while keeping the slider compact. When used on the ground or other surface, it has a travel length of 1.3' and supports up to 40 lb. Mounted on a tripod, it provides a travel length of 2.6' with up to 10 lb loads supported. The movable design also works for dolly shots, because since the rails move along with the carriage, they won't get in the shot when you dolly in and out.

The SliderPLUS v5 Long is a manual ball bearing slider, but it supports the optional Slide Module v3 attachment for motion control, and other edelkrone motorized add-ons can be incorporated for fully synchronized multi-axis motion control operated via a single iOS/Android app. When paired with the Slide Module v3, the SliderPLUS v5 Long can be mounted on a tripod at an incline of up to 22.5° with up to 5.5 lb loads.

The slider carriage features a retractable 3/8"-16 mounting screw so it doesn't scratch up your bag or anything else during transport. On the bottom, the slider offers a 3/8"-16 thread for more robust tripod mounting. For tripod-mounted use, edelkrone suggests that the space between the tripod legs be 43" or more.

Other features include lockable fold-out legs, an instant-lock button on the slider carriage so you can safely move the slider from place to place, and magnetic belt clips. The belt clips of the included belts simply push in onto the slider carriage for efficient use.

The SliderPLUS v5 Long is made of aluminum and stainless steel components, steel ball bearings, and temperature-treated aluminum rods. Some of the parts are made from a single block of aluminum to ensure a longer life span.

edelkrone SliderPlus V5 Camera Slider Reviews

Overpriced and not as advertised

edelkrone has an amazing marketing team, but don't be fooled by their paid sponsorships and Youtube reviews like me. I've purchased the slider, slide module, headPlus, and Jib and none of them are as easy or smooth as they say. The slider has a huge issue that I cannot get past. When it extends to the maximum distance, it bows at one end, even when I have it on a 100mm half ball as they've recommended. Also, there is a noticeable shake in my video when the camera reaches the center of the track. It happens EVERY time my slider meets the centerpoint so this thing is basically useless. I wanted to have an automated studio, but all I got in return was overpriced useless junk... Save your money, seriously. I wish someone had honestly reviewed their products before I purchased mine and wasted $3k+. I won't be buying anything from edelkrone ever again...

Limited use thus far

Because it only has one tripod mounting point in the center, the use cases for this are somewhat limited. You either need a very heavy duty tripod with sand bags or a very light camera rig, otherwise it will tip over.

Love my new slider! There's nothing that comes close to built quality and features. The fact that it uses half its length for storage is great.

Great slider and quality

had a GVM slider before this - Edelkrone is expensive but worth every penny. Super fast to set up - I have it with the Slidermotor v3, and two head ones for pan and tilt. Great setup for my Canon EOS R.

Love it!

This along with the Slide Module v3 was my very first Edelkrone purchase. I also purchase a GVM slider. I like the GVM slider and absolutely LOVE the Edelkrone slider. For the Edelkrone, I also have the Edelkrone HeadPLUS v2. With the HeadPLUS v2, you get a whole new dimension of movement. If you need a more simple setup, the GVM is a great choice. If you demand unlimited movement in your shots, in my opinion, you cannot beat the SliderPlus v5/HeadPLUS v2 combination. Yes, much more expensive but. . . .

So Bummed

I bought this rushed delivery right before a work trip to get some cool shots, but when it got here and I set it up I realized that it didn't come with the mechanism that lets you do motorized movements; you have to buy that separately. But I don't have time to get it now before I leave and so now I won't be able to get the shots I wanted.

Has anyone used this with C300mkii?
Asked by: Derek
The C300 MK is a little heavy for this slider depending on how you build it out. The camera body is 4 pounds a lens may be 1-2 pounds a ball head is generally another 1-1.5 pound. with this rather basic set up you are looking at between 6-8.5 pounds. The slider is rated for 10 pounds but we usually recommend planning to have some overhead to get the best performance out of the slider. we recommend sliders that accommodate 13+ pounds for the C300 cameras.

Will the SliderPlus V5 work with a Canon C200 and a 70-200 lens? That should be around 7pounds. And this slider says that it supports 10 pounds.
Asked by: Clint
Yes, you will be able to use the Canon C200 with a 70-200mm lens on the edelkrone SliderPLUS v5 Long. I do recommend that you use a tripod that is strong enough to support payload when the camera reaches the end of the slider. We offer some support solutions that might make this easier if you notice that the payload is too much for the slider to handle at its ends. Check out the GVM Aluminum Slider Support Rods (Pair).
