Point Source Audio CO-6 Reviews

Surprising flaws become aparent with use

1. This is a rebranded MM-PSM Pro mic that can be purchased for $130. It's made in the USA, though. 2. This mic is thicker than expected and it is more obvious than the Countryman E6 or Shure MX153. 3. The element exposes your cheek to a mild electrical current that eventually has your skin and muscle feeling messed up after only 20-minutes of use. You've got to keep this thing from getting too close or you'll get hurt on your cheek. It takes several hours to recover. It's also super distracting during a seminar to start having a buzzing cheek. 4. The colors are all jacked up. There is no good color of this microphone. The beige is too pale, the tan is actually brown, and the black is definitely not what I'm looking for. However, the sound is fantastic. It's very natural compared to other mics I use. It really has the best sound.

Great sound, good size, good price.

There are three reasons this didn't get 5 stars.1. the cable is really curly and is hard to straighten out. I got the thicker 2mm cable and I'm not sure if that's why.2. the thing is hard to get to stay in place when looking to the side opposite of which ear it's on... until you really get the hang of it. I have it figured out now, but it wasn't easy.3. the color is way off in the picture. It is neither beige nor tan. This thing is milk chocolate brown. Fortunately, that color is a bit better for my skin-tone than the beige would've been, but it is full-on brown. Always err on the side of a darker mic.OK... why this thing rocks: it's small, lightweight, has great sound - very even, and seems durable enough for what I'm going to do with it. Also, the price is much better than their primary competitor.
