I typically use PhotoShop to print directly to my Canon printers and control parameters, bypassing as much of the Canon written (usually mis-written) software as possible. Is anyone doing that with the PRO-300 and, if so, how is it working?

I will print about 2000 prints this year with about half printed directly from Photoshop. It works fine other than Photoshop print dialog tends to be slow. The workflow from Photoshop for high volume can be annoying as each has to be printed one at a time. I could offer more advice on workflows and my experience but that goes beyond the scope of this question. Look for a review here shortly.

Is it recommended to always leave the printer on to prevent clogged print heads and having the print heads to charge?..thanks.

You can reduce the amount of ink used by the printer by leaving your printer on so that it goes into power save mode instead of turning it off after each use. Each time you turn off and then back on your printer, the print head nozzles will be cleaned during printer initialization. By letting the printer go into power save mode, it will reduce the amount of cleanings that are performed and as a result, use less ink.

If the Olympus cameras is connected to the WIFI Network then you should be able to print using this printer. I download my pictures to my PC and print from my PC, which is on the network. I also direct print from this print using my iPad, with no problems.

Another Canon printer that can print 16x20 is the imagePROGRAF Pro-1000, which is considerably cheaper than the Pro-2100. The Pro-1000 can print up to 17-inch-wide papers.

It can take a cut sheet from a 13" roll cut down to 39" long and fed through the rear paper tray.
