Canon R6 necessary accessory

Works great. The Canon R6 battery life can be a challenge, so having the grip with an additional battery is great. And so far there isn't an off-brand option from Vello or Promaster. Unlike the Canon grips I had with previous cameras, this one doesn't have the option for AA batteries. So that's a downside. Also wish the R6 would have an upgrade that allowed me to program certain buttons off on the grip but leave them on, on the body.

Received grey market instead of USA warranty version

Very disappointed. I received an Australia and New Zealand grey market battery grip instead of the USA version with the 1 year warranty as I ordered. I live in Virginia. I am returning for a refund as I do not want to risk getting another grey market unit.

Pricey but this helps me hold onto my camera a bit better. I have yet to spend all day with it but I like the layout of the buttons and the added heft.

Excellent!! Love it

It lets you handle your R6 a lot easier

I consider the EOS R6 too small and difficult to hold for a long while, specially if you have a long lens attached to it. I know a grip also adds more weight, but that little more weight is nothing compared to the benefit of the increased ergonomics. The buttons don't fall exactly in the same position as when using it horizontally, that is why I don't give it a 5 star rating. The grip for the 5D MK III was better in all aspects, but this one feels solid and well bilt, in my opinion.

Awesome add on

I have really large hands, so a battery grip is a must for me. I bought the Canon grip because it was available at the time, even though it's a more expensive product. The grip is a quality product, which is what we expect from a company like Canon. The battery grip feels good in tour hands and keeps the controls readily accessible, thus making vertical shots easier to accomplish.

Easy to attach to the R6 body. Utterly necessary.

Having 2 batteries is so amazing to have! Adds a little bulk to the camera but overall the benefits outweigh any issues.

I don't believe the BG-R10 Battery Grip enables any settings that were previously unavailable without. It simply allows for 2 batteries, and has the essential buttons for shooting from the grip.

I read that there is a battery grip that can be used with the R6 and the R. Is this the one?
Asked by: Macarena
The EOS R requires a Canon BG-E22 battery Grip. The R5 & R6 require a BG-R10 grip. Canon does NOT make a single Battery Grip that fits both the EOS R6 and EOS R. The two answers that state that this grip is OK for the R6 AND R are totally incorrect and should be removed because they are misleading and simply wrong!
