The ink produces professional quality photos with an expanded color gamut and enhanced black density. The included Matte Black ink provides deeper black levels on fine art paper as well as a wider dark area reproduction range with improved gradation. The Chroma Optimizer reduces the difference in ink droplet height to form a flat, smooth ink layer. This leads to an evenly reflected light, deep blacks, and bright, saturated colors on coated papers.

What is the amount of ink used when replacing an empty ink tank?
When you use the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 printer for the first time after you install the bundled ink tanks, the printer consumes a small amount of ink in the amount to enable printing by filling the nozzles of the Print Head with ink. For this reason, the number of sheets that can be printed with the first ink tanks is fewer than the succeeding ink tanks, which would not subsequently require filling the print heads.
The printing costs described in the brochures or websites are based on the consumption data from not the first ink tank /ink cartridge but the succeeding ink tank /ink cartridge. Ink is sometimes used to maintain the optimal printing quality as well.

As a very rough approximation, how many full color 8x10 pages could be printed with one ink set?
My first tank to run out - new printer_ first set of ink tanks - was Photo Black. Rough estimate Grey and CO have 25% remaining, other colors more. Mostly printing close up photos of flowers, night photos, bird and animal photos, all with dark backgrounds in Highest Quality using Canon printer software.
I got 39 - 8 1/2 x 11 inch PRO LUSTER prints the majority of them borderless.

I have purchased the Pro-300 printer ina different Region (Asia). Can i use the ink cart made for the US Region?
Canon does make their units region specific. Officially, we have to point you in that direction. You should be able to contact Canon for instructions on how to reset the region of your printer though.
