This product works on the AD200Pro & the AS400Pro Strobes with a Bowens mount. It will not fit on a AD600Pro Strobe. The inside of the SA017 is too small to fit over the bulb and flash assembly.
I bought this thinking I could put it with my new Godox SZ150r. Saw videos online of people with that set up but it won't fit on mine for some reason. Really unfortunate considering I bought them to use together for an RGB spotlight. Other then that and the tons of light spill around the modifier it's a good addition to have in your lighting kit.
Does what it's intended to do. Be careful if rotating the projection unit when shooting. The unit can detach itself from this mount adaptor. It doesn't really lock in.
Perfect fit.
I own both Godox S30 and SL60W units, and the projection attachment with normal lens. When I saw this adapter I was curious whether I could make use of bigger output head and still have the perks of projection attachment. Turns out non-fresnel units really fall short in comparison. Godox SL60W while being twice the power (and the size) of S30 produced 2.5 stops less light. Possibly Godox SL200w could outpower the S30 in this setup, but I don't own one to check. Also, due to the design of the adapter, it might not work with other bowens mount fixtures such as Aputure 120D II that I have.
Terrific mount . Necessary for use with the Projection attachment. Well made metal construction.
Do not buy for Godox Ad600 Pro
The Godox SA-17 Bowens Mount to S30 Mount Adapter is a useless part without 2 additional optional parts. Describing the adapter. It has a front mount designed for the Godox SA-P Projection Attachment. This front mount is called S30. The adapter's rear mount is a Bowens male mount which will mate with any Bowens female mount product. To make a flash projector, use the SA-P projector, the adapter, and an S or S2 bracket with a speedlight. I use a Godox AD-200 flash unit with either the fresnel or round head. Both work okay and neither have overheated. Lumen output is more than sufficient for projecting. I do not use the barebulb head, but you may want to. Just be aware that focusing and/or aiming the light is a chore, because you are dealing with flash, and not continuous light. For a continuous light projector, use the adapter with any LED continuous light unit with a Bowens mount. Just beware the COB on the LED light should not extend more than 1.5 inches, otherwise it will hit the internal mirrored reflector inside the adapter. The adapter is made of non-magnetic metal with a built-in plastic diffuser near the front end mount. The adapter has cooling air vents and seems well-made. Rating this product, one should consider the whole complete setup. The projector (and accessories), adapter, speedlight bracket, speedlight, and/or LED light unit. Having all the parts, I rate the total package a grade B (using the standard school A-F grading system in the U.S.). The projector is the key part, the adapter part allows the dual feature of flash and/or continuous light. For future updates I would like the adapter's diffuser to be made of heat resistance glass, with a less chance of discoloration over time. As a possible alternative unit, check out the Westcott Optical Spot by Lindsay Adler.
