A bit expensive for card reader but I like the form factor, the usb-c interface and it is fast at reading the memory card.

The package arrived quickly enough, but there was no warranty card in the box because of this I was very upset.

Unexpectedly warm

Works as expected but for some reason it gets quite warm just being attached to computer full time. This makes me concerned about longevity.

Disappointing

Does what it's supposed to... most of the time. For the price it should be all the time. When it reads a CF card it usually hauls beautifully, but one out of four or five times, no matter the card or computer, it drops down to USB3 speeds, which sure means a long copy time for a slew of 120meg RAW files. No predicting when the slow down will happen or what card or what computer. I'll keep it since I need the CF card reading ability, but a customer might want to check out other brands before purchasing.

Fast but costly

It is fast and works well but it is costly. If speed is what you looking for in a reader then this is what you want. Just remember speed is costly. Wish Sony would bring the cost down 30% and it would be a 5 start must have reader.

Fantastic product.

I get the feeling of trust and the satisfaction of photo results while and after using these cards.

Transfer speed would be determined by the USB-c cable so if it's the same cable and same cards - no difference

I was testing the Sony MRW-G2 with the Sony 160GB CFexpress Type A on my computer and uploaded 100GB of data to it using USB 3 on Windows 10. My upload speed averaged150 MB/s, and my download speed averaged 500 MB/s. USB-3 supports 625 MB/s, and my hard drive is 2000 MB/s. Why is the upload speed so slow?
Asked by: Diane
If you are connecting to a hub between the computer and the reader that slows down the transfer rate. Also check the cache that your SSD has. If the cache is 2GB but you are transferring 256GB once it hits 2GB the transfer rate will slow down a lot. SSD vendors always advertise their performance based on the cached area. They never advertise the performance based on writing 256GB of data in a cached area of only 2GB.
