Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD Lens for Sony E is not heavy enough to use tripod collars or a lens foot. You can attach the tripod release plate on the camera,

How is this lens for Friday Night Football Games with A73 ?
Asked by: Hugh
It is a very good lens in general. But it is f/4.5-6.3. So not the best for low light compared to others. Depending on how dark it is you will need to up your iso. And it will not be as fast to Autofocus compared to an f/2.8 lens like a 70-200, https://bhpho.to/3s0NRMl .

The Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD Lens for Sony E is a good lens but in most cases the Sony E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS Lens optically will be better. Please note- the Sony 70-350mm is designed for a Sony APS-C sensor camera (not a full-frame sensor camera).

No, but it is stiff enough not to slide while still being easy enough for smooth, non-jerky zooms.

Any advice on how to prevent the lens from ...

Any advice on how to prevent the lens from "creeping"? I like to wear my camera with the Peak Design Strap connected to the side lug and tripod mount. With the strap slung diagonally across my torso, the camera rests comfortably and compactly on my side or back with the lens pointing down. It only takes a couple of minutes for the Tamron to fully extend.
Asked by: Petr
Anti-creep bands such as this LensBand help prevent creep when stretched diagonally over the zoom ring and the rest of the lens' body. https://bhpho.to/3DhntEB
