Complementing the unique medium format digital back and camera body, the Hasselblad 907X Control Grip affords more intuitive handling and tactile control over the camera system. This dedicated grip features a shutter release button, permits quick adjustment over aperture and shutter speed via the control dial, and enables AF point selection via the integrated joystick. Additional buttons provide direct access to the CFV back's menu system and image review options, and all four buttons are customizable for personalizing the configuration to suit different workflow needs. The grip attaches to the back and body combination via a 1/4"-20 tripod mount and benefits working from eye-level or waist-level positions, and also functions as an ideal alternative to the back's touchscreen interface if working with gloves.

A More and Easier-Control Grip
I very much love the simple and puristic style of my 907X/100CFV and I love to shoot it from the hip and I also often attach the 100CFV to my 50OC/M to shoot with my old lenses - roughly 30% of the time... - so I thought veeeery long about getting the grip or not. But - I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and used the camera now a lot over the winter and took it snow machining, snowshoeing or fat-tire-biking (without any problems even in -40°F by the way) I use thin liner gloves to operate my cameras (otherwise I am a Nikon-shooter) and that was always tricky with the little ring around the release button or pressing the Shift button at the side and turning the ring. And even though I have e-tip-liner-gloves it was difficult in our super dry cold to use the touch-screen-display: adjusting a value or placing the focus-point exactly on the spot where I wanted to have, was really difficult and sometimes a bit frustrating - especially when it was colder than -25°F: you don't want to work only with liner gloves longer than absolutely necessary... The grip is super helpful with this: the mini joystick is great in moving the focus point and the thumb- and index-finger wheels make the adjustment of aperture and shutter speed super easy - especially when you come from Nikon and their 2 wheel system. Nice is that you can program the buttons to the functions you need - I love when I have the possibility to customize my camera to my style of shooting. So it does exactly what I had hoped for - better handling of the camera in the cold with gloves. Otherwise it is full Hasselblad: beautiful design and very well made. It attaches tightly - even in the cold I had no problem that the screw came loose: I read that in some forums, that some people had that problem - not from my experience. It is a bit awkward to put a tripod-L-bracket under it - it works of course but the whole thing becomes very clumsy. I think it is really a hand-grip to improve the ergonomic when you are shooting handheld - when you shoot on a tripod you have all the time to adjust everything via the touch-screen...... What I would love to see as improvement would be an on/off switch on the grip for the camera so that you do not have to press that tiny button below the screen anymore. The other huge thing which would be amazing would be, if you could tilt the grip maybe 45° forward: that way you could shoot still nicely from the hip without holding your right wrist in a very weird angle - that would be really great.. Overall: definitely would buy it again for its function and improvement of the handling but I love my 907X more without it.....
should have gotten sooner .
just recently purchased from B&H/used , received overnite , perfect like brand new - my best purchase of the new year. This grip completes the Hasselblad 907X (even smaller than appears in photos) .
