Handy!

Sony SIII batteries are the worst! They don't last long, this D tap solution is great way to save time. Often times swapping Sony batteries, depending on your camera rig set up, can be a pain in the you know what and a waste of time accessing the bottom of the camera, so a V-mount battery option is usually the optimal way to go.

Had for a little over a year and have zero issues

Had for a little over a year and have zero issues, currently have 2 of them and power an A7SIII and an FX3 with them. I just wish they offered more colors and a straight cable version instead of this coiled one.

It's a little expensive, but it's very good.

The delivery is fast and I'm very satisfied with the production.

Right size and feels rugged

I've had issues with cheaper cables not fitting right in ptap, but this fits just right, snug enough not to move, but easy to remove you want to. The coiled cable feels sturdy and reliable and looks pro.

I've heard that some of the dummy batteries out there can damage Sony cameras. I feel that Kondor Blue is a trustworthy brand, and am confident that it won't harm my cameras. This works, as expected. I just wish it came in all black.

Bricked my cameras. Novel of a review.

TLDR: Dummy Battery bricked two of my Sony A7 cameras and Kondor Blue does not seem to have any urgency in resolving the matter. Long story short, I bought this for an a7s3 rig, tried connecting the cable to my battery and an error message popped up saying that the battery is incompatible and to use the correct model. I try my regular Sony brand battery and the same message popped up. I assumed somehow it was my fault, contacted Sony customer support, and shipped off the camera immediately. Luckily, it was in warranty. I had a shoot that night and figured I'd make the best of a bad situation and rig up my Sony a7iii to get what I needed (yes this product specifically says its for the S3 but they use the exact same battery). Attach everything and lo and behold, I got the same error message. I immediately contacted Kondor Blue support to see what could be done. I had to cancel that shoot. On live chat, I talked to a customer support person who speedran me through possible solutions. None of them worked. Two big concerns for them were my V mount battery and memory cards/lenses in/on the camera. While the former is a possible issue, I have been using this battery for a year and have had no issues with it. In fact, I use another Kondor Blue cable to power my Atomos Ninja 5+ directly from the battery (as I tried with both of my A7's). We ended the live chat with them sending me an email to start the process of returning the product to be inspected. But this email was just a link to their return page on their website. I submitted my request via the website and... two follow up inquiries and 10 days later I still have not gotten a email with instructions to send in the cable. Holidays are over so there is no excuse why it is taking this long. My main source of income is now gone and Kondor Blue seem to not care. Not to mention I have had to cancel shoots for clients. They offered to express ship me a replacement cable in the meantime, but seeing as I no longer have any functioning cameras to use the cables on, I declined. I am currently still waiting to receive the email with instructions on how to return the cable for testing.

Using this with rig mount for FX3 powered to Came-TV battery. It fits perfectly, the cord length is good, and overall quality appears to be good.

Would this work for Sony A7iii?
Asked by: DeAnn
This does work with both cameras. Be warned, that if the power is lost while recording video, you'll lose the video file and not be able to recover it. It's a major flaw with using this type of product. Best to power with the USB-C Cable with battery left in.
