Based on the Ampere architecture and designed to handle the graphical demands of 4K gaming and high frame rates, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 OC Graphics Card brings the power of real-time ray tracing and AI to your PC games. The GPU features 10GB of GDDR6X VRAM and a 320-bit memory interface, offering improved performance and power efficiency over the previous Turing-based generation.

The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs, such as DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1. HDMI 2.1 supports up to 48 Gb/s bandwidth and a range of higher resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K @ 60fps, 4K @ 120fps, and even up to 10K. The RTX 3080 is not just about high-resolution gaming. Computationally intensive programs can utilize the GPU's 8704 cores to accelerate tasks using CUDA and other APIs.

For cooling, ASUS implemented a triple axial tech fan cooler. The axial tech fans utilize durable dual ball fan bearings. The two outer fans rotate the same direction but the center fan has a reversed rotation in order to reduce turbulence. There is also a stop mode when the GPU reaches low temperatures. The top-side RGB logo can be customized with Armoury Crate and synced with other ASUS components for uniform lighting.

NVIDIA Ampere Architecture

NVIDIA Ampere is the 2nd generation RTX architecture. It features up to twice the FP32 throughput, 2nd Gen RT Core throughput, and 3rd Gen Tensor Core throughput of the previous generation. It also features a Samsung 8N custom process and utilizes GDDR6X VRAM.

Real-Time Ray Tracing

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX platform enables real-time ray tracing of objects and environments with physically accurate shadows, reflections, refractions, and global illumination.

DLSS

NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is AI rendering that boosts frame rates while still providing optimal image quality using the dedicated AI processing Tensor Cores on the GeForce RTX platform. This gives you the performance you need to maximize ray tracing settings and resolutions for an immersive visual experience.

HDMI 2.1

The HDMI 2.1 interface provides increased bandwidth, allowing a single cable to output to 8K HDR TVs for ultra-high-resolution gaming.

DO NOT OVERLOOK your PSU output. Minimum is 750 gold or platinum rated. this card will call for around 350watts. So you need 2 separate GPU power outputs of 175 watts each. Really for performance stability because this card is sensitive once clock speeds go above 1600, you should be using a 850watt plus PSU gold or platinum rated. Skimp on power and your bound to crash. also the only cards worth getting are the FE and the ASUS TUFF (which is built beyond spec) for best stability. all other manufacturers are having issues with stability at 1700 plus clock speeds. Partly due to skimping out on cheap PCB. Spec is 2 MLCC. Most aftermarket brands are using 6 of 6 cheap caps. MLCC main purpose is for filtering directional noisy current which is necessary at higher clock speeds where even cheap power wiring not shielded properly can cause instability. RF signals from wireless devices or unshielded speakers near your PC can affect stability also. They make insulated high end cases for this or you can do it yourself if your PC setup is in an area with such devices that are unavoidable.
