An effective take on a popular focal length, the Sony E-mount AF 35mm f/1.8 FE from Rokinon is a wide-angle prime mixing a lightweight and portable design with a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture. The optical design incorporates a two extra-low dispersion elements and a pair of aspherical elements, which help to suppress both chromatic and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness, color accuracy, and clarity. An Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to reduce flare and ghosting in order to achieve higher contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. The lens's linear STM autofocus motor works in conjunction with Sony cameras' AF systems for quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance, and manual focus override is also available for more refined control. Additionally, a Custom Switch enables making intuitive adjustments of a variety of camera and exposure settings by rotating the lens's focusing ring.

I Bought this for use with the Sony Alpha 1 and I have a Sony FX-9. Nice lens for the money. Specifically bought this to use , because it's super light-weight , with the Weebil-S and my Sony A1. Affordable, I've been pleased with it so far, quick, accurate, and precise AF control-auto-focus very fast with the Sony A1. quality build. small size. Images tack sharp -the shallow depth of field is excellent. Nice Bokeh Footage of it in use in a short film I made with Rokinan on my Sony A1 with the Zhiyun Weebil-S https://youtu.be/8WYw5DKqbwM Master Sculptor Don Wiegand Life Casting of Vietnam Veteran Jim Causey. Great lens for the price
Great image quality, but the auto-focus can be touchy. Other than that, it's spectacular for the price.
Very sharp, light lens
I don't normally like small light lenses however when one factors in budget some things just have to be. Some strong cons. The hood is ridiculously loose. I wonder how long it will be before I lose it. I guess Samyang likes to sell replacements. Seriously, I can't figure out how they couldn't make it fit more snugly. I wanted to give it 3 stars for that alone. The lens is extremely sharp though and isn't that what it's really all about? I snapped a few shots at f/2.0 and everything looks great. If it's great at f/2 it will be fantastic at anything above that. Great lens and nice bang for the buck. A super sharp, fast lens that won't break the budget.
Outstanding lens!
Super sharp, beautiful bokeh, nice punchy contrast, accurate color rendition, fast and accurate af, quiet motor, imperceptible distortion, and the included hood is great. The build quality feels just a little lightweight and could possibly be a little beefier but that might also add unnecessary weight, and I really like the form factor as-is. Image quality and character is comparable to the excellent Rokinon f1.4 which is a better fit if you only shoot manual focus and/or use of a full rig with follow focus and matte box etc, but is an absolute beast and requires support. This f1.8, by comparison, balances perfectly on my a6400, and pairs great with a dji ronin gimbal and compact cinema rig. Love it!
