I bought the Nikon clear filter to fit on the front of my new Nikkor 100-400mm Z lens. It works great, as the frame is thin, and so when I have to screw in a CPL, if I cross thread the filter threads by mistake, I only bugger-up a $100 filter versus the plastic threads on a $3000 lens. Highly recommended to protect the filter threads on a lens from cross threading!

Can this Nikon 112mm filter be screwed directly on to the front of Z711, 14-24 F2.8 lens without using the lens hood?
Asked by: Karen
Unfortunately you need to use the included hood to allow this lens to have screw threads for a filter. However, as stated, it is included in the box with the lens when you purchase it so you do not need any additional parts to allow filters to work.

will this 82 mm filter fit the z 24-70 f/4.5 lens?

Yes, but you will need a 72-82mm step-up ring. This will also prevent you from using the supplied lens hood. I am assuming you are referring to the 24-70mm f/4 lens.

Does this filter out UV (Ultra Violet) light? I contemplate use with full spectrum cameras.
Asked by: Ronald
This question has already been answered by several B&H customers. This is not meant to filter rays of any wavelength, but solely to protect the front element of an expensive lens with a piece of quality glass that will not affect your images. A quality product for a quality lens. The u/v filters available in the aftermarket will tend to modify the quality of your images. BTW, I just checked the Nikon website and could not find any u/v filters available. Just NC (neutral color) or polarizing filters. Other filters are available, for example, the Skylight filter, to reduce haze. So, you should be safe using the Nikon NC filters for your purpose. Hope this helps.

What is the thread call-out (Dia x TPI) for 52 mm filter threading?

Industry standard would have this to 52mm with 0.75mm pitch threads. If you have further questions, please write us. [email protected]

question

Will this 52mm Clear NC Glass Filter by Nikon work/fit on my AF-s NIKKOR 17-55mm f2.8? Also, will it work/fit on NIKKOR 70-200mm f2.8VRII? What clear filter would you recommend for each of this len?Thank you.

No, that will not fit those lenses. Both lenses use a 77mm filter size not 52.This would be my first recommendation.B+W 77mm XS-Pro Clear MRC-Nano 007 FilterB&H # BWCXSP77 Mfr # 66-1066111http://bhpho.to/1rDbpoMThen you have this one,Hoya 77mm HD2 Protector FilterB&H # HOPH277 Mfr # XHD2-77PROTEChttp://bhpho.to/1oc4kVM
