When it says that it makes the lens a stop ...

When it says that it makes the lens a stop faster, like f/4 to f/2.8... does that mean it makes it how f/2.8 looks on full frame or how f/2.8 looks on Super 35?
Asked by: Zachary
To give the same DOF as on a FF camera, you need to be one stop faster with the focal reducer. So f2.8 on FF will have the same DOF as f2 on a super 35 with this focal reducer. Why? Physics. Because the physical iris on the lens doesn’t change of course. You are gaining one stop of light not because the iris of the lens is larger but because you gather more light via the focal reducer.

how does it work for a Sigma Art 20mm 1.4 on EOS ...

how does it work for a Sigma Art 20mm 1.4 on EOS R6 ? I have a Metabones speedbooster EF-R and have severall issues : The AF does not work. It automatically crops, cannot override it. Can only use at f/1.4, cannot close, cannot boost. weird. So I am currious to see if the Canon speedbooster performs well also on 3rd party lenses, especially the ones with AF ?
Asked by: Olivier
You will be able to adapter and use the Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF, BH #SI2014C, with this adapter as it is a Full Frame EF Mount lens. However only Canon EF Auto Focus lenses work perfectly with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF while using an adapter. When using a 3rd party lens your performance will vary from lens to lens.
