Though I don't max out on the speed, I know with the newer laptops I can maximize the speed using this.

No faster than non-Pro model & more expensive

I have both Extreme SSD's and now an Extreme Pro SSD. Test results using Blackmagic Disk Speed Test show no significant difference in read/write speeds between the Pro and the non-Pro. Tested on MacBook Pro, 10Gbps cable. Both V2 models. The Pro is still a fine SSD, but I see no reason to pay the extra 40-50% for the Pro.

I got this on sale, but at market price, I would pass. Apparently the pro isn't really any faster than the regular model.

Blazing Fast!

So far, this thing has been amazing. Using it with a 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max and Adobe Premiere Pro - using 4K footage. I have the 1TB Extreme version from a couple years ago and it's always been very fast and solid, but the PRO V2 just takes it to another level. I'm not sure how the exact numbers hold up, as I don't test that, but I'm glad I got it.

The Sandisk Exteme PRO SSD is designed to run at faster sustained speeds and be able to handle many more read/writes, not necessarily cooler. You will get the full speed of this drive when you connect it to your Thunderbolt 3 port on your 2017 iMac Pro.
