For position tracking, there are two front-facing cameras and two side-facing cameras, as well as internal sensors, so the G2 is able to track more of your arm movements. The integrated headphones feature Valve speakers. They sit off the ear by 10mm to provide a more comfortable fit. You can increase the cushion size for even weight distribution, resulting in a more comfortable fit. The cable is now longer (19.69'), thinner, and lighter, so you have more freedom to move around.

HP Reverb G2 Virtual Reality Headset

I bought this a month ago for use with MS2020. So far it has worked great. The only issue I am seeing is that it is a little shaky when I look around. It was very easy to set up and use for the first time and connect to MS2020 every time. Overall good product!

Looks good on paper but fails in practice

Resolution is high but otherwise not at all pleasant to use. Screen gets hot very quickly and radiates toward your face. Wire is super bulky and rigid causing it to constantly feel like it's in the way. Velcro straps are not great for fine adjustments because of having to pull out the whole thing before setting it again. No matter what I tried it always felt like I was looking through binoculars with blackness beyond the lenses. Lastly the controllers drain the batteries fast and it doesn't help that they are finicky about rechargeable batteries. Overall just poorly designed and the resolution does not compensate for all the design flaws.

Great headset, terrible controllers

The headset is great, but the WMR controllers are awful. To be fair, they’ve always been awful, but for such a high quality headset, you’d expect something better.

A real pain in the butt to get operating. If you have absolutely nothing better to do with a lot of your time, then this might be for you. HP could learn a thing or two about easy setup from Oculus, I bought this to replace my Oculus because I was told this was a better headset, I've yet to see it. I'm actually considering selling this and going back to my Quest 2. Cons: -Hard to figure out how to set it up without watching dozens of non hp youtube videos, some right some wrong! - Headset tracking is an absolute joke compared to Oculus. - The way you have to plug and unplug a power cord to get it to work is archaic to say the least. - The weight of the cord is ridiculously heavy, this is a vr headset not a 220 arc welder. - The headset is slightly lighter than the Q2 but it doesn't have a processor in it so it should be a lot lighter. - Would I buy this headset again; No I don't think I would buy this again or recommend it over Oculus Quest 2. I have been tinkering with this headset for over a week and I still have yet to see better graphics produced than I was getting with the Quest 2.

Game Compatibility an Issue

I like that base stations are not needed, so it makes this unit easily portable. Finding good games this unit is compatible with is challenging though.
