The AV7706 is tuned by Marantz sound masters to deliver a unique, musical sonic signature from nearly any source.

This preamp is engineered to provide versatile setup options. Featuring 11.2-channel XLR and RCA pre-outs, the AV7706 is built for use with high-quality external power amplification or active speakers for audiophile sound. It uses an HDAM circuit board to help the preamp section provide optimal channel separation, minimum crosstalk, and an enhanced signal-to-noise ratio for precise detail resolution and stereo imaging, while the ELNA capacitors of the analog section help offer augmented power and dynamic ability.

Eight HDMI inputs and three outputs are onboard to accommodate your favorite sources. One HDMI input supports 8K/60 Hz or 4K/120 Hz pass-through, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through; HDCP 2.3 copyright protection is supported on all HDMI inputs, allowing you take your home entertainment up a notch with HDR10+, Dynamic HDR, ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), QMS (Quick Media Switching), and QFT (Quick Frame Transport) support. The processor can also upscale your native video source to near-8K quality.

eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) supports the transmission of 3D audio from your display's apps over a single HDMI cable for a simple setup.

Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D, DTS Neural:X, and DTS Virtual:X are designed to create realistic surround sound, positioning and moving individual sounds to nearly any virtual point in your room, including overhead, using up-firing or dedicated overhead speakers. DTS Virtual:X creates virtual height effects in 7.1-, 5.1-, or 2.1-channel speaker arrangements.

IMAX Enhanced certification designates that the AV7706 meets certain audio and video performance criteria set by a committee of IMAX and DTS engineers and A/V technical specialists. These criteria include image, sound, scale, and content quality. Onboard IMAX calibrated modes are set and approved by Hollywood colorists to help provide enhanced picture and sound for HDR UHD content.

Josh.ai is designed to offer flexible voice control for the AV7706 and the rest of your compatible smart home. It is installed by custom integrators and accessed through an app on your iOS or Android phone or tablet.

Stream audio from your favorite music services like Apple Music and Spotify or watch videos from services like YouTube and Netflix from any iOS, Mac, or Apple TV device and hear the audio synced to your speakers with AirPlay 2. Wireless multi-room audio is also supported, allowing you to wirelessly stream content to multiple AirPlay 2-compatible devices simultaneously with enhanced audio buffering to help ensure smooth audio playback. AirPlay 2 also provides control and grouping of compatible audio devices within the Apple Music or Home App. Use AirPlay 2 in-app or with your voice via Siri.

The AV7706 is equipped with a dual-antenna system that allows streaming via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, or the HEOS app. In addition to streaming to the preamp over Bluetooth, you can also stream from the preamp to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers, or to headphones and speakers simultaneously. This is convenient if you have a family member or friend who is hearing impaired, to accommodate their headphones and in-room speakers.

Enjoy the fidelity of high resolution audio with the ability to decode up to 24-bit/192 kHz ALAC, FLAC, and WAV lossless files, as well as DSD 2.8 MHz and 5.6 MHz tracks (the audiophile format of SACD). The AV7706 features multiple HDAM modules, which are engineered to provide a fast slew rate, wideband performance, and enhanced dynamic range for optimum sound quality. Current Feedback technology, rather than the typical voltage feedback configuration, helps provide a wide, closed-loop bandwidth and steep slew rate to further augment fidelity with wideband audio sources.

The HDAM is designed to outperform op-amp solutions with its higher speed, helping to keep the audio signal clean and tuned for enhanced sound performance.

Watch a movie in one room while another family member listens to a CD in a different zone without interruption. Enjoy up to 11.2-channel surround sound in the main room and a separate source or music stream in up to two other rooms. Connect a separate stereo amp and speakers to the second and third zone pre-outs.

Share the main zone TV audio to all your zones without losing the discrete multichannel playback in the main zone. Select "Source" for the second or third zone from the AVR remote app so the main zone audio doesn't switch to stereo PCM.

The AV7706 features two subwoofer outputs to help smooth out low frequencies and enhance bass dispersion, mitigating peaks and audible dips. Connected subwoofers can be calibrated independently with Audyssey Sub EQ HT technology for more seamless bass performance tailored to your room.

The AV7706 can be controlled with your smart TV remote through the HDMI CEC functionality associated with your Smart TV. Simply set "HDMI Control" to "on" in the AV7706, then set "Smart Menu" to "on" and begin controlling the preamp with your TV remote. The Smart Menu home screen provides you quick access to source and surround mode selections, the preamp's setup menu, and four Smart Select options.

Download the Marantz AVR Remote app for control of the receiver and access to its setup menu for detailed adjustments from your compatible iOS and Android devices.

Four Smart Select buttons store your preferred setup for each source, including input, volume, Audyssey configuration, and an "All Zone Stereo" setting for party mode.

Once you connect your display to the AV7706 via HDMI, the Marantz Setup Assistant appears on the screen to guide you through the setup, helping you establish settings to help achieve the best sound quality for your configuration. It will also rename the HDMI inputs automatically when connected, or you can rename them manually if you prefer.

Equipped with the Audyssey Platinum suite of DSP algorithms, the AV7706 features Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room correction. With the included microphone, MultEQ XT32 is designed to analyze each speaker's (and subwoofer's) output at up to eight measurement locations and generate digital filters to help optimize each channel for the correct frequency and time domain response.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume smooths out disruptive volume jumps, such as with loud commercials, letting you listen at lower levels while still enjoying clear dialogue, music, and sound effects, while Audyssey Dynamic EQ provides full-range clarity at virtually any listening level. Audyssey LFC (Low Frequency Containment) uses psychoacoustic algorithms to deliver a full-range balance, including deep bass, without disturbing close-by neighbors or those in others rooms, and features a multi-step adjustment.

Audyssey Sub EQ HT provides individual DSP tailoring of each subwoofer in a dual-subwoofer setup, allowing deeper bass with enhanced definition when compared to a single-subwoofer configuration. Additionally, the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app lets you view and adjust settings for detailed tuning and customize the sound more precisely to your room and tastes.

The AV7706 lets you store two Audyssey profiles as well as other amplifier configurations. You can switch between the two settings on the fly, giving you the freedom to tweak your listening experience for your content or listening environment.

Well suited for custom installs and remote troubleshooting, the AV7706 has a variety of features to provide enhanced control and compatibility with third-party and custom integration solutions, including IP control via either wired LAN or Wi-Fi. For compatibility with other components, use the remote control input and output on the rear panel, along with the flasher input and 12V trigger output. The AV7706 also features Control4 SDPP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) for integration with compatible home automation equipment.

The AV7706 offers extended support for integration into custom installs, including support for OvrC and Domotz Pro remote monitoring and management technologies, as well as a web interface to control and set up the preamp from a computer on the same network.
