The 15.6" display features an IPS-level panel for wider viewing angles along with a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. Visuals are handled by the integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics. You can also output to an external display via HDMI. Other features include a fingerprint reader, a microSD card reader, Thunderbolt 3, and USB Type-A. Windows 10 Home is the installed operating system.

Windows 10

Start Menu

After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.

Cortana

Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.

Microsoft Edge

After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.

Windows Store

For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.

Windows Continuum

Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.

Xbox on Windows 10

Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

I just bought this for school and have found it to be VERY easy to use and light to carry. The thin style is excellent as well!!

Worth every penny.

I am amazed by this laptop. I knew I loved it just from the pictures but they don't even begin to really do it justice. It is so thin and light that I can't even tell it's in my bag. I was worried about the color (which is SO beautiful) fading or getting worn off but it isn't showing any wear yet, even after daily use. The back-lit keyboard is great and pretty bright but can also be dimmed or turned off. Fingerprint scanner is lighting fast. Overall it's a solid 9/10 for me. Only downfall I've personally noticed is the speakers sometimes sound like they're a little distorted, but only with certain apps.

Great computer for carrying back and forth to work

I have the S433E, 512 GB SSD, 8GB Ram and [email protected] ghz - This computer is plenty fast, when using it it 'overclocks' and see speeds up to 4 ghz. - Runs a 24 inch screen through the USB C easily, can extend to use your laptop as a separate different screen. I put zoom on computer so I am 'making eye contact' and documents etc on separate monitor. - Charges with the cord that came with it, and through the USB C port, need 60W usb c charger. - Has a full size HDMI port. - Has never crashed on me in three months. - Use it for zoom and it works reliably, speakers are plenty loud and microphone good for having people next to me on zoom. Speakers are not going to do beyonce's lemonade at full volume and sound well, sounds better at 85% volume. I couldn't get the asus ai noise canceling to work with zoom, but zoom microphone sounds great to other people without it. - Bought Asus because their laptops are reliable. I've had essentially planned obsolescence with HP, and Acer - Keyboard is better than most laptops. Not loud but audible, some feedback and movement to the keys, there is a nice pop to tell you you pressed it properly. Good spacing. I forget that it is a laptop keyboard and continue to use it when I have a wireless available. - Track pad is great and reliable, doesn't have separate buttons, you can 'right click' with tapping hard with two fingers. It is not a split track pad, though you could turn that on in settings. - It gets warm and has a special heat vent on the bottom of the computer, not warmer than my battery pack for charging phones through. - I don't game so I don't know how good the graphics included on the intel chip is. - I don't really use the keyboard backlight, it has three levels of brightness, and off. The light bleeds if you are at the wrong angle. Obviously less so at lower settings. - Battery life varies greatly with how bright you use the screen, generally 5 hours (high brightness, constant use) to 9 hours (low brightness, low use). Charges with USB C or its proprietary charger. I'm pretty sure you can replace it with $55 and a youtube video, did it for last asus laptop. - Most universal chargers have a knob that charges Asus laptops. - It is a fully metal enclosure, pretty sturdy, no bend, doesn't show fingerprints, very minimally like a darker area if you have chip grease on your hands. - With SSD it starts up and wakes up so fast, less than 20 seconds always usually less than 10 seconds. - I've transferred large files very quickly. Highly recommend.

College laptop

I've used Macbooks for years. When my son was ready to fly the coop and move away for college, we were looking for a laptop that could manage schoolwork and all of the extra fun stuff he enjoys during his down time. This was last year and now my daughter is preparing for the same. Both kids have Asus laptops now and they check all of the boxes. They're secure and have the fingerprint login. I don't worry about snooping eyes getting into their assignments or private information. My daughter is excited to find a protective cover for her laptop and decorate it in a way that's uniquely her. The VivoBook is a powerful and very appropriate laptop for the college students in your life!
