Just right

I bought this model because I have confidence in Manfrotto tripods and BH and this fit my needs. This model has the weight capacity I need in mountains and deserts with a Nikon D610 and Samyang lenses for Milky Way shots and a Sigma 150-600 for birding. Easy to pack, easy to use, keeps the camera steady on long exposures.

Falls apart

After using the tripod two days, I have found it very poorly constructed. The way it attaches to the camera keeps coming unscrewed, and I almost lost the foot at one point. Twice the legs have falling off when I unscrewed it too far, leaving a plastic piece rolling around that I couldn't figure out how to put back correctly. I like the lighter weight, but I am finding it very badly made.

Light and sturdy. Only if the head had friction control and spikes were provided for the legs. Still a very good travel tripod.

Good Tripod for backpacking

Took a chance on this as I needed a tripod that I could easily carry as I on crutches. It fit the bill as I could strap it on my day backpack and it did not add a lot of weight or bulk. It supports my Canon 5D MK IV with a 70 to 200 MM lens. Satisfied with it and would recommend it. Ording through B&H was easy and received it on time.

This is my first carbon fiber tripod, and I a very pleased! Very well engineered and built, lightweight yet will accomodate a lot of weight. The leg locks are very positive. Usual Manfrooto quality.

Does the ball head accommodate Arca-Swiss camera/lens mounting plates or only Manfrotto plates?
Asked by: Rick
Although the ball head has a clamp that accepts Arca type plates aside from Manfrotto plates, it has not been tested specifically with the Arca Swiss brand of plates. Your results may vary.

Does the ball head accommodate Arca-Swiss type camera/lens mounting plates or only Manfrotto style mounting plates?
Asked by: Rick
While they advertise that it works with Arca-style plates, I was unable to mount my Tamron 150-600mm telephoto, because the Manfrotto ball head has a mounting screw that stands proud of the base of the mounting plate. It does work with the SmallRig L-Shaped grip for my Nikon Z fc, as this grip has a gap at the bottom where the protruding mounting screw can sit.

Since the head is unique does that also mean you cannot swap heads? It implies that.

On my copy, the ball head is removable. Just unscrew it, and replace it with another one if you want.
