I bought this to use with the GF80mm f/1.7, it's great for in-depth close-ups with portraits. It also works great to turn most lenses into a moderate macro. I only had one problem in using it with the 35-70 zoom, it wouldn't play nice with the lens at 35mm, but at 50mm and longer it worked fine. Still, I bought it mainly for use with the 80, and with that lens, it's killer. Highly recommended!

I previously wrote a review for both Viltrox Extension Tubes for the FUJIFILM G-Mount (45mm & 18mm) camera/lenses, giving each a 1 and a don't buy warning. When I first tried them on my 110 F2, they gave me quite a fright as they would not disconnect from the lens. Freaked me out thinking I'd ruin a $3000+ lens by attaching a $180 extension. I finally did get it off and thought it was a disconnect slider. Didn't touch them again for a while... I love close-up photography and looked at everything again this morning. It turns out that some of the screws holding the tubes together were sticking out and not tightened. Yes, I'm a bit disappointed about getting something in that state but after screwing things together properly I retired the tubes with the 110 F2. They work just fine, and I'd am amending my poor review. I'll take a star off for the sloppy state they arrived in.

Works great!

Completely happy with the Viltrox 45mm extension tube. Provides full control of camera / lens electronic functions. Fits correctly to camera frange and lens. Stacked with the Viltrox 18mm tube no problems. When stacked connections between tubes not as rigid as single tube, no light leaks and lens seems secure, (120mm micro). Have stacked multiple images without alignment issues. Note: on the tube to lens end only is metal, the tube to camera is what ever the tube in manufactured from. So far no problems. I would purchase again. Is a reasonable alternative to the OEM tubes.

Completely satisfied with this 18mm Extension Tube. Provides the function electronic interface between the camera and the lens giving full operational control. Fits correctly to the camera frange and lens interface. I have stacked this with the Viltrox 45mm Extension tube without problems. When stacked with the 45mm Tube the connection is not as tight / rigid as with individual tubes, no light leak and seams structurally sound. Used to stack multiple images with no alignment problems. So far seems to be a reasonable alternative to the OEM tubes.

It looks like this has metal mounts, what is the body made of ?
Asked by: Dan
The body of the mount is made of a magnesium carbonate material, to the eye it will look similar to plastic but it has a metallic feel to it.
