All this does is stand straight up how do I adjust the tension?
Asked by: d Chris
There are no tension adjustments. Nor do you need the weight of mic for it perform properly. The boom should articulate through its operating range right out of the box.

Will this setup work out of the box with EVRE20 & SMB7?
Asked by: Steve
It works great with the Sm7b! I was worried it would droop or pull away, but even extended out over the desk my sm7b only moves when I want it to. I can't speak to the EVRE20 but my sm7b setup is far better due to this boom arm. Had it for about two months now with no issues.

Is it possible to use the O.C. White riser with this boom?
Asked by: Thomas
At this time, this specific model of broadcast arm is not compatible with a riser. You may want to look into their Proboom Elite series for use with a riser. BH #OC14295BC.

I have a question about that "included threaded stud to connect to the microphone's holder"...is that included with the mic or with the OC White Acculite? I have both of these items and the mic does not fit perfectly (flush) on the OC White...which has a 5/8 standard thread. The PodMic has a 3/8 thread with a PARTIAL 5/8 thread...so when you attach it to the OC White it only goes about halfway on...it's firmly on, but it's only half way...not "flush" as in the pictures.
Asked by: Tim
The Rode Podmic has a removable 3/8-inch adapter, and can be connected flush on to any studio arm with a 5/8- inch threaded stud.

Are there any pictures of this unit mounting on a desk. The [Overview] button is grayed out and there is no description for this boom. How does my Electro Voice RE320 shock mount fit on this boom?
Asked by: Jon
The boom fits into a clamp which bites on to your desk (table/flat surface). The clamp adjusts to something more than 3.5" thick. You would not want to clamp it on to something that wasn't horizontal (as a table/desk would be) because the bit that the boom connects to the clamp allows for very free swinging (yeah, baby!--Austin Powers). I was able to fit the clamp into circular hole my office desk has (designed to guide computer cords), but it was a tight squeeze. As for your shock mount, it will work both hanging down or standing up (whatever your druthers). It's very adjustable.

Is there a desk insert accessory that takes the place of the vice mount, for permanent mounting, like the PSA-1 comes with? If not what is the diameter of the anchor and will it work with the PSA-1 permanent desk insert?
Asked by: Mike
Again, I'm not sure what the other answer is talking about. The boom fits into the c-clamp with a smooth peg. Would that peg fit into your PSA-1 anchor? I'm not sure. looking at pictures, I suspect there's at least a 60% chance it's the same diameter peg/hole, but if you don't like returning stuff you may not want to commit on that guess. The c-clamp DOES fit into my desk-hole (that's designed to guide computer holes), but just barely. It's not as clean a look as the PSA-1, but it does clamp well. I did a DIY job with a spare coaster to make it look nice (and give the clamp something besides my "wood" finish to clamp onto)
