    Domke 700-F6B reviews

F-6B Ballistic Bag (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Travel yes, use on-the-fly no. The reviews I read inspired me to try the F-6B. It appeared to have enough room for my D5500, with a 55-300 lens attached, a second lens, and a flash. It looked good on arrival, but I immediately had some concerns about how well it would work. The first concern related to the way the top covered, or didn't cover the side of the case, and whether my gear would be protected from the environment. It was a toss-up. Maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't. Then there were the pinch- and-lift hardware used to secure the top flap to the case. They make the bag very secure, but a hassle to access. Still hoping to find the F-6B worthy of keeping I tried putting my kit into the bag, and found it could be done, but not as I had planned/wanted/needed to have it configured, or without my gear rubbing, or banging against itself. I decided to return the bag after finding myself making excuses for keeping it, and realizing I could use pretty much any bag, camera-or-not as I would have had to use the F-6B. So, I'm back in the hunt for that elusive bag that protects my gear, while allowing me to carry, and quickly access what I need, already configured.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good travel bag. I have previously purchased Domke bags and have yet to be disappointed. This one was purchased as a compact carry all for my mirrorless system; specifically for travel and low profile. This fits the bill. Not bulky and does not stick out in the crowd. There is plenty of storage and there is space to add additional padding. For purposes closer to home where keeping a lower profile is not an issue I might go with a different bag with more space and padding. The only minor complaint are the metal clips that do not feel very user friendly but do keep everything securely closed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal for Rangefinder Outfit I find the Domke F6 bag to be ideally suited for smaller cameras and lenses, such as Leica M. I configured mine with the provided 4-compartment insert (with the internal dividers removed) side by side with the optional short 2-compartment insert. The larger compartment is roomy enough to easily fit the camera body with whichever lens happens to be attached at the time, while the smaller compartment (with the divider intact) accommodates my other two lenses. The ergonomics of this configuration are outstanding. I can work out of this bag FAST and entirely by feel if I need to. Also, the bag is shorter than the Domke F2, thus making it even easier to work out of with rangefinder gear, as the added height of a taller bag would be completely unnecessary. The front zippered pocket is generous enough to accommodate all else I typically carry with me, such as filters and film. The only thing I would ask for (I'm nit-picking now) would be the two external side pockets found on the Domke F2. Unfortunately, the F6 lacks these, but their absence isn't much of an inconvenience. Their inclusion would only make a near-perfect bag perfect. Bottom line: I love this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic bag for 2 body rangefinder Great bag if your a 2 body rangefinder user. Plus you can add 2-3 additional lenses. I have a Leica M9 w/35mm, Leica M4 w/28mm, 50, 24 and 90 fit this bag perfectly. The bag is not so tall that you need to stack your lenses. All fit very well and assessable. Love Domke for their make sense amount of padding. Just enough to protect your equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great shoulder bag I don't often use shoulder bags anymore because they throw off my back, but I picked this one up a few days ago and have really been pleased. I use the bag for two Leica film bodies with lenses attached, with another two M lenses and the Leica flash. The bag fits everything beautifully with just the perfect amount of room to spare for film and extras. From what I can tell so far the bag is extremely durable. When I didn't have the bag I just carried the cameras around and they kind of got beat up a little, but I always had them ready to shoot. So, now my only gripe is that they are not always at the ready because they're in a bag, but that's no one's fault buy my own. At least they are in a well made bag that fits them particularly nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 2nd F-6B This is my 2nd F-6B. The last one lasted about 10 yr. I made the mistake of buying other (more expensive) options, but the Domke just works well with my needs. The weight distribution, how the material feels, etc, has stayed the same troughout the years. My minor con for it, is that the bottom padding is not removable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag Like other Domke bags, its well-made and will likely stand up to years of use. The nylon fabric looks great; I'm not sure it will age/wear as gracefully as canvas, but only time will tell. The F-6 most likely will not hold what the description says, but its great for a mirrorless kit with a number of lenses. I carry a GX8 with lens attached, two Olympus PRO zooms, three to four m4/3 primes, speedlight, and plenty of batteries, charger, SD cards, filters, etc. - with a little room to grow in the future. Its a relatively expensive bag (there are plenty of lower cost bags available) but you do get what you pay for with much better quality than cheap bags. My only disappointment is that it could include a larger insert or second, smaller insert to fill the interior space.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great bag, cheap insert - Chapter 2 This is a followup to my 7-31 review. I emailed Domke the info they requested (including the photo in the 7-31 review). After 3-1/2 days, I haven't gotten a response of any kind. So I returned the bag. (Thanks, B&H).
